If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Based on your follow-up questions, I wanted to clarify a few things: 1. Regarding payment during appeal: Technically, the overpayment is still due while under appeal. However, you can request a temporary hold due to financial hardship or set up a minimal payment plan ($10-20/month) to show good faith while your appeal is pending. 2. Legal representation: While not required for the initial appeal, if it moves to an Administrative Law Judge hearing, having representation is beneficial. As someone mentioned, check for legal aid services in your area. 3. Documentation strategy: Focus on having your doctor specifically address why your condition prevented you from working at THAT job. Mental health disabilities are legitimate disabilities under SDI, but the documentation needs to be explicit about how your condition prevented you from performing your specific job functions. Keep us updated on your progress. Many appeals are successful with proper documentation!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this stress on top of everything else you've been through! As someone new to this community but familiar with mental health struggles in toxic work environments, I want to emphasize that your condition sounds completely legitimate and you deserve those benefits. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet - when you gather your medical documentation for the appeal, make sure your doctor specifically addresses the timeline. Since your anxiety/depression was directly related to your workplace, having clear documentation that shows when symptoms started, how they worsened due to the hostile environment, and why leaving that specific job was medically necessary could be crucial. Also, if you have any documentation about the workplace harassment (emails, HR complaints, witness statements, etc.), include those too. They help establish that your condition wasn't just "job dissatisfaction" but a legitimate medical response to an abusive situation. You've got this! The fact that your doctor is willing to provide additional documentation shows they believe in your case. Don't let your former employer's tactics intimidate you - they're probably hoping you won't appeal.

This thread has been such a lifesaver for me! I'm currently in my third month of SDI and stumbled across this discussion while researching certification deadlines. Emma, your experience is incredibly reassuring - I had no idea that late certifications could still process so quickly, especially near the claim end date. That 2.5 day turnaround is honestly way better than I expected from EDD! The 20-day grace period information is pure gold - it's frustrating that such important details aren't clearly communicated in their official materials. I've been using a single calendar reminder, but after reading everyone's strategies here, I'm definitely setting up multiple backup alerts. It's amazing how much more helpful real community experiences are compared to trying to decode EDD's confusing website. Thank you all for creating such a supportive space and sharing your knowledge - it makes navigating this system feel so much less intimidating!

Welcome to the community, Zainab! I'm so glad you found this thread helpful too. When I first started my SDI journey about 8 months ago, I was constantly stressed about these same deadline concerns. Emma's story really is the perfect example of how even when we think we've messed everything up, the system can still work in our favor. That 2.5 day processing time for a late certification honestly surprised me too - I was expecting much worse delays based on all the EDD horror stories you hear! The multiple reminder approach has been absolutely essential for my peace of mind. I ended up setting them at 2 weeks out, 1 week out, 3 days out, and the morning of each deadline. It might seem excessive, but it's such a relief knowing I have those safety nets in place. This community has been invaluable for getting practical advice that you just won't find in any official documentation. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions as you continue through your claim!

This thread is absolutely amazing! I'm about 2 months into my SDI claim and have been constantly anxious about certification deadlines. Emma, your story gives me so much hope - I can't imagine how stressful it must have been waiting for that payment, but the fact that it came through in just 2.5 days shows the system does work even when we make mistakes! The 20-day grace period info is incredibly valuable and something I definitely didn't know from any of the EDD paperwork I received. I've been setting single reminders but after reading everyone's experiences, I'm going to follow the multiple alert strategy. It's so reassuring to find a community where people share real experiences instead of trying to navigate EDD's confusing official materials alone. This thread should honestly be required reading for anyone starting an SDI claim - thank you all for being so helpful and supportive!

This thread has been absolutely incredible! I'm brand new to the SDI system and was having a complete meltdown when my continued claim form didn't appear until today - literally 24 hours before the deadline. I've been obsessively checking the EDD portal for days, convinced I had somehow messed up my claim or missed a critical step. Reading through all of these experiences, especially @Kristian Bishop's successful outcome, has been such a huge relief and really shows that this stressful timing is actually how the system is designed to work (even though EDD does a terrible job explaining it). It's so frustrating that they put people through this unnecessary anxiety when we're already dealing with health challenges and financial stress. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to share their stories and advice - this community is truly invaluable for navigating EDD's confusing processes. I'm definitely going to take screenshots when I submit my certification later today, and I'll make sure to update this thread with my results to help future newcomers who might be going through the same panic!

Welcome to the community, Elin! I completely understand that meltdown feeling - I'm also new to SDI and went through the exact same panic just a few weeks ago when my continued claim form didn't show up until the day before the deadline. I was refreshing the portal constantly thinking my account was broken! This thread has been such a godsend for understanding that this nerve-wracking timing is actually normal, even though EDD does absolutely nothing to explain it. @Kristian Bishop s'positive update really demonstrates that despite the anxiety-inducing process, everything works out when you follow the steps correctly. It s'so thoughtful of you to plan on updating the thread with your results - that kind of community support is exactly what makes this place so valuable for navigating EDD s'poorly communicated processes. You ve'got this, and we re'all here if you need more support!

I'm so thankful I found this thread! I'm completely new to the SDI system and just experienced this exact same situation with my continued claim form only becoming available yesterday - literally one day before the deadline. I was absolutely panicking, thinking I had somehow messed up my account or that there was a system glitch. I must have refreshed the EDD portal a dozen times over the past few days! Reading through everyone's experiences here, especially @Kristian Bishop's update showing that everything processed perfectly on time despite the stressful timing, has been incredibly reassuring. It's really frustrating that EDD doesn't provide any clear explanation about this being normal timing - when you're already dealing with health issues and worried about finances, the added stress of thinking you might miss a payment deadline is overwhelming. I ended up certifying as soon as the form became available and I'm crossing my fingers that my payment processes on schedule like everyone else's did. Thank you all for sharing your stories and creating such a supportive community - it makes navigating EDD's confusing system so much more manageable!

Just wanted to share my recent experience since I see a lot of people struggling with this! I was on SDI for 4 months last year and initially panicked when I couldn't find my 1099-G in the mail. Logged into UI Online and found it right away under the tax documents section. One thing I learned is that you can actually download it as a PDF, which is super convenient for your tax preparer. Also, if anyone is worried about the amounts being correct, the 1099-G will show the exact total of all your SDI payments for the tax year, so it should match what you received. Don't stress too much - EDD actually has gotten better with making these available online, even if their mail delivery is still hit or miss!

This is really reassuring to hear! I'm new to the community and just started reading through this thread because I'm in a similar situation. I received SDI benefits for about 6 weeks last year and have been stressing about the tax forms. It's so helpful to know that the online system actually works well for downloading the 1099-G as a PDF. I was worried about having to deal with EDD's phone system based on some of the horror stories I've read here. Your tip about the amounts matching what I received is really useful too - I kept good records of my payments so I can double-check everything. Thanks for sharing your positive experience with the online portal!

I'm new here and going through this exact situation! I was on SDI for about 3 months last year and just realized I need to track down my 1099-G for tax filing. Reading everyone's experiences has been so helpful - I had no idea I could access it online through UI Online! I've been waiting for it in the mail and getting stressed about my tax deadline. Going to try logging in today and hopefully can download the PDF version like Daniel mentioned. It's such a relief to know I'm not the only one who was confused about SDI being federally taxable but not for CA state taxes. Thanks everyone for sharing your tips and experiences - this community is amazing for navigating all these EDD complexities!

Welcome to the community! I'm also pretty new here and just went through a similar experience with SDI tax forms. The UI Online portal really is a lifesaver - I was able to find my 1099-G there when it never showed up in the mail. One tip that helped me: when you log in, look for "Tax Information" or "Form 1099G" in the menu - sometimes it's not immediately obvious where to find it. Also, make sure you're logged into the right account type (it should be your disability account, not unemployment if you've had both). The PDF download feature works great and you can save it directly to your computer for your tax preparer. Don't worry about the deadline stress - once you get the form online, you'll have everything you need! Good luck!

I'm new to this community and just wanted to thank everyone for this incredibly detailed and helpful thread! I'm currently dealing with my first SDI claim and ran into the exact same verification message issue - got the claim date adjustment (which I now understand is completely normal) plus that verification request but no form anywhere to be found. As a complete newcomer to EDD's disability system, I was honestly terrified when I first saw these messages. I thought maybe I had filled something out wrong or was missing a critical step. But reading through everyone's experiences here - especially seeing Javier's successful resolution and all the detailed advice from experienced members - has been such a relief. What strikes me most about this community is how willing everyone is to share not just what worked, but also what didn't work and how long things took. That real-world context is so valuable when you're navigating this for the first time. I'm going to try calling EDD first thing tomorrow morning based on all the success stories here, but I feel much more prepared knowing I have solid backup options. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread - it's exactly the kind of resource newcomers like me need when dealing with these confusing EDD glitches!

Welcome to the community, Eva! I'm also brand new here and just started my first SDI claim last week. This thread has been absolutely incredible to discover - I was having a complete meltdown when I got that same verification message with no form available, thinking I had somehow ruined my application already! What's been so helpful about reading everyone's experiences is seeing that this verification glitch is actually super common and not our fault at all. I love how this community breaks everything down step by step - like explaining that the date adjustment is totally normal while the verification request is the actual problem. As someone who's never dealt with EDD before, that kind of clarity is priceless. I'm planning to call EDD first thing Monday morning too, following all the great advice here about calling right at 8am. It's so reassuring to see how many people have gotten this resolved quickly once they actually got through to a rep. Thanks for adding your voice to this thread - it helps knowing there are other newcomers going through the same thing! Hopefully we'll both have quick resolutions like everyone else here.

I'm completely new to this community and dealing with my first SDI claim, but I wanted to add my voice to thank everyone for this incredibly helpful thread! I just encountered the exact same verification message issue yesterday - got the claim date adjustment notice (which I now understand is totally normal thanks to all the explanations here) along with that scary verification request, but there's absolutely no form available anywhere in my account. As a newcomer to EDD's disability system, I was honestly having a panic attack when I first saw these messages. I thought I had somehow filled out my application wrong or was missing some critical requirement. But finding this thread and reading through everyone's detailed experiences has been such a huge relief - especially seeing Javier's update that it was just a system glitch that the EDD rep could fix instantly. What I find most valuable about this community is how experienced members like Omar and Luca break down what's actually normal (like the automatic date adjustments) versus what's a real system problem. That context is absolutely priceless when you're dealing with EDD for the first time and everything feels overwhelming. I'm going to try calling EDD first thing tomorrow morning based on all the success stories here. It's so reassuring to know that this verification glitch doesn't actually affect claim eligibility and that EDD reps are used to clearing it quickly. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions - this thread should definitely be a go-to resource for anyone dealing with this common issue!

Welcome to the community, Carmen! I'm also completely new here and just filed my first SDI claim this week. This thread has been such a lifesaver - I was absolutely panicking when I got that same verification message with no form, thinking I had somehow messed up my entire application! What's been most reassuring is seeing how common this verification glitch actually is since EDD's 2024 system update. Reading through everyone's real experiences - from the quick phone resolutions like Javier's to the document upload workarounds - has given me so much confidence that this is totally manageable. I'm also planning to call first thing in the morning following the advice here about calling right at 8am. It's amazing how supportive this community is for newcomers like us who are trying to navigate EDD's confusing system for the first time. Hopefully we'll both get quick resolutions like everyone else has shared here!
