Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Just to update you on current timelines - I help people with disability claims regularly, and right now EDD is taking about 12-14 days to process pregnancy disability claims even when all forms are correctly submitted. This is longer than their usual 7-10 day window. Don't panic yet! Also, make sure you're ready to complete your continued certifications when they become available - that's another common delay point in the process.

Yes, you'll receive an email notification when it's time to certify. For pregnancy disability, you typically certify every two weeks. Make sure to complete these promptly as they become available - late certifications can cause payment delays. Also, if you plan to transition to Paid Family Leave after your recovery period, remember that's a separate application you'll need to file.
I'm going through this exact same situation right now! Filed my pregnancy disability claim at 36 weeks and have been stuck on "pending medical provider form" for 8 days. My OB's office insists they submitted everything but I'm starting to wonder if there was an issue with the submission. Reading through all these responses is really helpful - sounds like 2-3 weeks is pretty normal right now. I'm planning to call my doctor's office again tomorrow to double-check they have a confirmation number for the DE 2501 form submission. The waiting is so stressful when you're this close to your due date and counting on that income!

The stress is real though - I keep checking the portal multiple times a day hoping something changes. Have you tried asking your doctor's office for any kind of confirmation number or receipt that shows they actually submitted the form? That might give you some peace of mind while we wait for EDD to get their act together.

Just wanted to jump in as someone who's been lurking here for a while - the persistence really does pay off! I finally got through last month after weeks of trying. The 8 AM strategy that @Javier Garcia mentioned is solid gold. Also, if you're getting the runaround from one rep, don't be afraid to politely end the call and try again with someone else. Sometimes you just get a better agent who actually knows what they're doing. Hang in there @Diego Mendoza - I know it's beyond frustrating but you'll get through eventually! 💪

This is so relatable! 😭 I'm going through the exact same thing - my PFL claim has been "pending" for 6 weeks now and I've called probably 200+ times. The automated system just hangs up on you half the time! What's really frustrating is that we NEED this money to care for our babies, but they make it nearly impossible to get. I've tried everything - calling at different times, using different phone numbers, even had my partner call. Nothing works. I'm definitely going to look into that Claimyr service @Chloe Anderson mentioned. At this point $20 seems like a bargain if it actually gets me through to a human being. I just joined this community after finding this post because I m'in a similar boat - my SDI claim has been under "review for" 3 weeks now and I m'getting desperate. The fact that the automated system literally hangs up on people is just cruel when we re'already stressed about finances and caring for newborns. I m'definitely going to try that Claimyr service too. $20 is nothing compared to the thousands we re'owed in benefits. It s'shameful that we have to pay a third party just to access services we ve'already paid into through our taxes! Has anyone tried reaching out to local news stations about this? Congrats on finally getting your approval! That 4-month wait sounds absolutely brutal. I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - been waiting 2.5 months for my disability claim to get approved and it's been such a stressful process. Really encouraging to hear that yours finally went through and the payment showed up quickly on your existing card. Did you have to do anything special to get them to finally approve it, or did it just eventually work its way through their system? Hey Jacob! I feel your pain - that 2.5 month wait is already way too long. Honestly, I don't think there was anything special I did to speed it up. I called probably 20+ times over those 4 months and mostly just got told "it's under review" or couldn't get through at all. What finally seemed to help was when I submitted additional medical documentation from my doctor that was more specific about my limitations and how they prevent me from working. I also had my doctor's office call EDD directly to clarify some things on the forms. But honestly, I think it was just a matter of waiting for someone to actually look at my file. The whole system seems backed up. Hang in there - hopefully yours comes through soon! @Jacob Lewis

It's so stressful when you're depending on that money for basic expenses. I'm planning to try calling first thing Monday morning like someone suggested.
