The weekly claim filing is really the most important part of maintaining your unemployment benefits. Miss too many weeks and you could lose eligibility entirely. Set a phone reminder if you need to!
One last thing - keep copies or screenshots of your filed weekly claims. If there's ever a dispute about what you reported, having your own records can really help resolve things quickly.
Check if your county has any local assistance programs too. Some counties have emergency rent/utility assistance even if you don't qualify for other state programs.
I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier when I had issues with my claim being stuck in adjudication. Really helped me get through to someone at Washington ESD who could actually resolve my problem instead of just giving me the runaround.
One thing I learned is that if you get a job offer and turn it down, you need to have a good reason or Washington ESD might disqualify you from benefits. They consider turning down suitable work as not being available for work.
Generally work that matches your skills and experience, though the standards can change over time. After a certain period they expect you to consider jobs that pay less than your previous job.
Just wanted to add that if you have any complex issues with your claim, like if it goes into adjudication or you get a disqualification notice, definitely try to reach a Washington ESD representative. The automated system and website can only help so much with complicated situations.
This is where Claimyr really comes in handy. When you have urgent issues that need to be resolved quickly, waiting days or weeks to get through to Washington ESD can really hurt your claim. I used it when I got an overpayment notice that I needed to dispute.

I've helped several friends through this process and most people who were fired for performance issues (rather than misconduct) end up getting approved. The adjudication process can be stressful but it's usually fair. Just be patient and honest.

•You're welcome! Sounds like you're in a similar situation to others I've seen get approved. Good luck with your application!

Quick tip - when you file your claim, there's a section where you can explain the circumstances of your job separation. Use that space to clearly explain the lack of training and unrealistic expectations. That information goes directly to the adjudicator who reviews your case.

•Perfect! I'll make sure to be detailed in that section. This whole thread has been incredibly helpful.

•Glad to help! Remember, the more context you provide about why the termination wasn't your fault, the better your chances.
