UPDATE: Got my deposit this morning! Thanks everyone for the help and timeline info. Definitely filing Sunday mornings from now on to get that Wednesday deposit schedule.
Just want to add that if anyone else runs into payment delays or needs to check on claim issues, Claimyr really does work. I've used it three times now when I couldn't get through the regular way. Much less stressful than spending all day redialing.
The $999 max seems pretty generous compared to other states I've lived in. At least Washington tries to replace a decent portion of your income.
Just wanted to share that I was able to get through to Washington ESD this morning using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Took about 20 minutes total and the agent was able to explain exactly how my benefit amount was calculated. Definitely worth checking out if you're having trouble getting through.
The bottom line is you can apply whenever you become unemployed and meet the basic requirements. The system is designed to help people during job transitions, not to limit how often you can get help.
Thanks everyone for all the info! I feel much more confident about filing my new claim now. Sounds like as long as my previous benefit year ended and I have qualifying wages, I should be good to go.
Hope it goes smoothly for you. And remember, if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD, that Claimyr service really does work.
The unemployment benefit calculation gave me such a headache. I ended up just filing my claim and waiting to see what they determined. Took about 10 days to get my monetary determination letter with the exact benefit amount listed.
One last thing - if you think Washington ESD calculated your unemployment benefit wrong, you can appeal the determination. You have 30 days from the date on your monetary determination letter to file an appeal if you disagree with the amount.
Appeals can take months to resolve though, so make sure you have a good reason before going that route. Most of the time Washington ESD gets it right.
If you do need to appeal or have questions about your benefit calculation, Claimyr can help you get through to Washington ESD to discuss it with an actual person. Much easier than trying to navigate the appeal process alone.

Hope it goes smoothly for you! This thread will probably help a lot of other people in the same situation too.

•That would be great if it helps others who are as confused as I was starting out.
