The most important thing is to be completely honest and provide all requested documentation promptly. Washington ESD deals with these situations regularly, so as long as you meet their requirements, you should be fine receiving both benefits.
One more thing - check your email and your physical mailbox. Sometimes Washington ESD sends important notices by regular mail that can delay your claim if you don't respond quickly.
For what it's worth, I filed mine on a Monday and was approved by Friday of the same week. But that was during a slow period, not sure how busy they are right now.
Filing immediately is definitely the right move. I waited a few days when I got laid off thinking I needed to organize everything first, and I regretted it. The sooner you get in the system the better.
Hope everything works out for you. Being unemployed is stressful enough without having to worry about whether you'll qualify for benefits. File today and take it one step at a time.
For what it's worth, I'm on week 22 of 26 and finally starting to get some good job leads. Don't give up hope - sometimes it just takes time to find the right opportunity.
One more thing to remember - if you do find work before your 26 weeks are up and then lose that job later, you might be able to file a new claim if you've worked enough hours. So the 26 weeks isn't necessarily a hard stop on all future unemployment benefits.
That's really good to know! So if I work for 6 months and then get laid off again, I could potentially qualify for another 26 weeks?

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about filing now. Going to start the application this weekend.
