Whatever you do, don't wait to file thinking you need to find another job first. You can look for work AND collect benefits at the same time - that's literally the point of the system.
One last thing about Claimyr - I found them super helpful when I needed to get clarity on my specific situation. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person who can look at your account and explain what's actually happening instead of guessing based on generic information online.
Just wanted to say hang in there. The unemployment system isn't perfect but it does work. Follow the rules, be patient, and you'll get through this. Most people get their benefits without major issues.
One more thing about getting help - I mentioned Claimyr earlier but wanted to add that when I was stuck in adjudication, I really needed to talk to someone at Washington ESD who could look at my specific case. The automated systems only tell you so much. Having a way to actually reach an agent made all the difference in getting my claim resolved.
For anyone still having trouble reaching Washington ESD about tax document issues, I had success using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. They got me through to an agent who was able to explain the discrepancy on my 1099-G and send me a corrected form.
Just wanted to update everyone - I finally got my taxes done and everything worked out fine. The 1099-G from Washington ESD was correct, I just had to make sure I reported it on the right line of my tax return. Thanks for all the help in this thread!

One thing to keep in mind is that if you do requalify, you'll need to file a new application. The disqualification doesn't just automatically lift - you have to take action to restart your claim.

•More bureaucracy, great. At least now I know what to expect.

•The process is complicated but manageable if you understand the steps. Don't let the complexity discourage you from pursuing what you're entitled to.

Good luck with your appeal! Even if it doesn't work out, at least you'll have a clear understanding of what you need to do to requalify. Knowledge is power in dealing with Washington ESD.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice. This thread has been more helpful than anything I've gotten from Washington ESD directly.

•That's unfortunately typical. The community usually has better information than the actual agency.
