If anyone's still struggling to get through to Washington ESD about their earnings, I had success using that Claimyr service too. They have some kind of system that gets you connected to an agent without waiting on hold forever. Made the whole process way less stressful.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This thread answered way more questions than the Washington ESD website did. Going to file my claim this week now that I understand the requirements better.
Been on unemployment twice in the past 5 years and the payment timing has been consistent both times. File Sunday, get paid Wednesday. Only exception was when I had to verify my identity which delayed everything by about 2 weeks.
Had to upload documents through their secure portal and then wait for manual review. Took forever but eventually went through.
Quick question - does the payment come from Washington ESD directly or through some third party processor? Trying to figure out what to look for in my bank account.
One last thing - if you do end up filing, make sure you're honest about why you left your job. Washington ESD will contact your employer to verify, and any discrepancies can cause problems with your claim.
The most important thing about quarters is just making sure Washington ESD has all your wage information. Whether you qualify often comes down to having complete and accurate wage records rather than exactly which quarters they use.
After dealing with all this quarter confusion, I finally got my claim approved. The key was getting through to an agent who could explain exactly what wages they were using and why. If you're stuck trying to reach Washington ESD, that Claimyr service really does work - saved me days of calling.

If you're worried about making mistakes on the application, Washington ESD has a practice version you can try first. It's not the real application but it shows you what questions they ask.

•That sounds perfect! Where do I find the practice version?

•It should be linked from the main unemployment page on esd.wa.gov - look for something like 'practice application' or 'demo

Last piece of advice - if you get stuck during the application and need to talk to someone, don't waste hours trying to call. I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it saved me so much time. Sometimes you just need a human to explain what went wrong.
