If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

For what it's worth, I tried that Claimyr service mentioned earlier when I had questions about my claim status and it was really helpful. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get straight answers about these complex programs.

Good to hear another positive review. I might try it myself if I run into more issues.

The demo video really shows how it works if you're curious about it before trying.

Bottom line: extended benefits aren't available right now in Washington but could be triggered if unemployment rises. Keep filing weekly claims after regular benefits end to maintain eligibility. Washington ESD handles everything automatically if you qualify.

Perfect summary! This is exactly what I needed to know.

0 coins

Yep, that covers all the key points we discussed.

For anyone still on the fence about withholding - remember that unemployment benefits end, but tax bills don't go away. Better to have the money set aside from the start.

0 coins

That's a really good point. When the benefits stop, you don't want to be stuck with a tax bill you can't pay.

0 coins

Exactly why I chose to withhold. Peace of mind is worth the smaller weekly amount.

Final thought - if you're having trouble getting through to Washington ESD to set up withholding or ask questions about it, that Claimyr service mentioned earlier really does work. Used it myself when I couldn't get through the regular phone lines.

Good to know! I was able to set up withholding online, but it's nice to know there's a backup option if I need to talk to someone.

Yeah, it's definitely handy when the regular phone system isn't working. Saves a lot of time and frustration.

If you ever have payment issues and can't get through to Washington ESD by phone, try using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. I used it last month when my payment was delayed and they got me connected to an agent who resolved the issue same day.

Several people have mentioned Claimyr now. Seems like it might be worth trying if I run into problems.

0 coins

Yeah, it saved me a lot of frustration. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out.

Bottom line: expect payments Tuesday/Wednesday if you file by Sunday, but don't panic if it's a day or two late occasionally. The system isn't perfect but it's generally reliable.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much better about knowing what to expect with the payment timing.

Bottom line for OP - with 8 months of steady work at $22/hour, you should definitely qualify for unemployment benefits if you get laid off. Don't stress too much about the eligibility requirements.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much better prepared now, even though I hope I won't need to use it.

This has been a really informative thread. I'm bookmarking it in case I ever need this information myself. The Washington ESD system seems complicated but at least the requirements are clear once you understand them.

0 coins

Agreed! I was so confused when I first started researching this, but everyone's explanations have made it much clearer.

0 coins

Bottom line - you can definitely get unemployment with severance pay in Washington. The severance might affect the timing of when benefits start, but it won't disqualify you completely. Just be upfront about it when you file.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful responses. Feeling much more confident about filing my claim now.

0 coins

One last tip - when you do your weekly claims, you'll need to report any severance payments in the week you actually receive them, not when you earned them. So if you get a lump sum in week 3 after filing, report it on that week's claim.

0 coins

Good to know about the weekly reporting. I'll make sure to report it in the right week.

0 coins

Exactly right. The timing of when you receive the payment is what matters for weekly claim reporting.
