If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't forget that if you do qualify, you'll need to do weekly claims and job search activities to keep getting benefits. But that's a whole separate topic from just qualifying initially.

Yeah I've heard about the weekly claims. How many jobs do you have to apply to each week?

0 coins

I think it's 3 job search activities per week but check with Washington ESD since the requirements can change. Activities include applying for jobs, networking, interviews, etc.

This has been really helpful! I was in the same boat as OP but now I feel confident about filing my claim. Thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge.

Glad it helped you too! This forum is great for getting real answers from people who've been through it.

Also watch out for the one week waiting period. Even if you qualify, you won't get paid for your first week of unemployment. Caught me off guard when I first filed.

0 coins

So even if everything goes smoothly, there's still a delay in getting money?

0 coins

Yep, the waiting week is standard. You file the claim but the first week is unpaid. After that you get weekly payments if you keep filing your weekly claims.

I got disqualified initially because I didn't understand how to properly document my job search activities. Make sure you keep detailed records of every application, networking contact, and job fair you attend.

0 coins

Do online applications count as job search activities?

0 coins

Yes, but you need variety. Don't just do online apps - include networking, job fairs, direct employer contact, etc.

I was in a similar situation and ended up using someone from my previous job's HR department. They have all the records and are used to these kinds of verification calls.

0 coins

That's what I'm leaning toward too. HR seems like the safest bet since they deal with this stuff all the time.

0 coins

Exactly, and they're more likely to be available and responsive compared to individual managers who might have moved on or be too busy.

0 coins

Just to add another perspective - if you're really stuck and can't reach Washington ESD for clarification, I had success using Claimyr to get through to an agent who explained exactly what they were looking for in that verification contact field.

0 coins

How quickly were you able to get through using that?

0 coins

Much faster than trying to call directly. The regular Washington ESD lines were impossible to get through but this got me connected within a reasonable time.

Update us when you hear back! Always curious to hear how long it actually takes for people. Seems like there's a lot of variation in processing times.

0 coins

Will do! Hopefully I'll have good news to share soon.

If you do end up needing to call Washington ESD and want to avoid the hassle, I'd definitely recommend trying Claimyr. I was skeptical at first but it really saved me time and frustration when I needed to get through to them about my claim.

0 coins

Thanks for the recommendation. If I don't hear anything by next week I'll probably give them a try.

For students, there are special rules too. If you're in school, you might still be able to get benefits but you have to prove you're available for work during all normal business hours. Being a full-time student can complicate things.

0 coins

What about online classes? Those are more flexible with scheduling.

0 coins

Online classes can help with the availability requirement, but Washington ESD still wants to make sure school isn't preventing you from taking a job if one is offered.

0 coins

Bottom line - if you worked in Washington state, earned wages, and lost your job through no fault of your own, you should apply. The application will determine if you meet all the specific requirements. Don't try to figure it all out beforehand, just apply and let them tell you yes or no.

0 coins

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I think I'll go ahead and apply since it sounds like I probably qualify.

0 coins

Good luck! Make sure to file your weekly claims on time once you're approved. That's a whole other set of requirements to stay eligible.
