If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One last thing - if you get any kind of separation pay, vacation payout, or severance from your employer, make sure to report it accurately when you file. That stuff can affect your benefit timing but won't necessarily disqualify you completely.

I did get paid for unused vacation days. Should I wait to file until after that money 'runs out' or file now and report it?

0 coins

File now and report it. ESD will calculate how it affects your benefits. Waiting just delays the whole process unnecessarily.

This thread has been super helpful! I'm in a similar situation and was completely lost. Going to file my claim today after reading through all this advice.

0 coins

Right? I feel so much more confident about tackling this now. Good luck with your claim!

0 coins

Glad we could help! Don't hesitate to ask if you run into specific issues during the process.

For future reference, if you ever need to contact Washington ESD and can't get through on the phone, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier actually works. Used it last month when I had a question about my claim status.

How long did it take them to connect you?

0 coins

About 30 minutes. Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to call myself with no success.

Bottom line for OP - you should get paid for your first week if you're eligible. File your weekly claims on time, do your job search, and you should be good to go. Washington doesn't have a waiting week anymore.

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks everyone!

Good luck with your claim! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

honestly the whole unemployment system is confusing but at least washington esd pays pretty well compared to other states. just focus on filing your weekly claims correctly and the amount will sort itself out

0 coins

True, I should probably stop overthinking it and just make sure I'm filing everything correctly.

0 coins

Yeah, and if there is an error, Washington ESD will usually catch it eventually and make adjustments.

If you're still confused after checking your monetary determination, I'd recommend using a service like Claimyr to get through to Washington ESD. Having an agent explain your specific benefit calculation can clear up a lot of confusion.

Thanks for the suggestion! Several people have mentioned that service now. I think I'll give it a try.

It's definitely worth it for the peace of mind. Unemployment can be stressful enough without worrying about whether you're getting the right amount.

One more thing - if you're doing your job search activities, you can use the card to pay for things like printing resumes or travel to interviews. Just keep your receipts in case ESD asks for documentation.

0 coins

That's really helpful! I was wondering how to handle job search expenses.

0 coins

The card should work internationally too if you travel, but there will probably be foreign transaction fees. Check with the card company about their international policies if you need to use it outside the US.

0 coins

Good to know for the future, even though I'm not traveling anytime soon.

One last thing - if you do move and run into any issues with your claim, document everything. Keep records of when you updated your address, copies of your job search activities, etc. Better to have too much documentation than not enough.

0 coins

Great advice! I'm definitely going to keep better records going forward.

0 coins

Yeah, these systems can be unpredictable sometimes so it's good to have a paper trail.

Thanks for asking this question OP! I'm in a similar situation and was too nervous to ask. Now I feel much more confident about making my move.

You're welcome! I'm so glad this helped other people too. Good luck with your move!

Thanks! Good luck with yours too!
