Quick note - if you're on standby status specifically, high demand periods typically don't affect your weekly claim processing since you're already established in the system. The delays mainly impact new initial claims and complex adjudications.
Bottom line: Washington ESD has contingency plans for high demand periods. Benefits continue, processing slows down, phone support gets overwhelmed. The system bends but doesn't break. Just be prepared for longer wait times on everything.
i'm on week 24 and finally got a job offer! feels good to know i won't need those last 2 weeks of benefits
The key thing to remember is that your 26 weeks start from when your claim becomes effective, not from when you first file. So if there are delays in processing, that eats into your time unfortunately.
I know someone who got an overpayment notice reversed by using that Claimyr service to reach an agent who actually reviewed their case properly. Sometimes it's just a matter of getting someone competent to look at your file.
Bottom line - report everything accurately and keep records of what you report. If you still get an overpayment notice, appeal it if you think it's wrong. Don't just accept it.
Update: Just wanted to mention again that if anyone gets stuck and needs to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD, that Claimyr service at claimyr.com really does work. Sometimes you need human help to sort through the bureaucracy.

bottom line is you should qualify unless you did something really bad. getting fired for performance or raising safety issues isnt misconduct. file asap and dont stress too much about it

Final advice - document everything from this point forward. Keep copies of all your Washington ESD correspondence, note dates of phone calls, save emails, etc. If there are any complications, having good records will help resolve them faster.
