If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Thank you! This thread has been really helpful for understanding what to expect.

Summary for OP: Based on your wages, expect roughly $300-400/week. File weekly claims immediately. Do 3 job searches per week. First payment takes 2-3 weeks. Keep detailed records of everything. And don't hesitate to get help if you run into issues - whether through WorkSource or services like Claimyr if you can't reach Washington ESD directly.

Perfect summary! I feel much more prepared now. Really appreciate everyone's help.

my standby claim got messed up and I spent weeks thinking I did something wrong with Washington ESD. turns out it was a system glitch affecting hundreds of people. really illustrates your point about individual vs structural

0 coins

Perfect example! System glitches create identical 'individual' problems for lots of people.

0 coins

Yeah, standby claims seem especially prone to these kinds of systematic issues.

Thanks for starting this discussion. Really changed how I think about my own situation with Washington ESD and unemployment in general. The personal is indeed political.

This is what good sociology does - it connects individual experience to broader understanding.

Mills would be proud of this thread - perfect example of the sociological imagination in action.

Hope this all works out for you! Unemployment benefits really help when you're between jobs. Just stay on top of the weekly claims and job search requirements and you should be fine.

Thank you so much everyone! This thread has been incredibly helpful. I'm going to file my claim right now.

You got this! Come back and update us on how it goes.

Best of luck with your claim! The unemployment system isn't perfect but it's there to help people like you who need it. Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you get stuck.

This community is so helpful for navigating Washington ESD. Wish I'd found it sooner when I was struggling with my claim.

0 coins

Agreed! Having people who've been through the process is invaluable.

One more thing - if you have questions about your specific claim duration or how many weeks you have left, your best bet is to call Washington ESD directly. The online account doesn't always show the clearest info.

0 coins

That's exactly why I recommend Claimyr - it cuts through all that busy signal nonsense and gets you connected to an actual agent who can give you specific answers about your claim.

0 coins

Might have to try that. This is ridiculous.

Bottom line for OP: 26 weeks maximum, starts when you first get paid (not when you file), and you need to file every week to preserve your benefits. Use the time wisely for job searching!

Perfect summary, thank you! This thread has been really helpful in understanding the timeline.

Agreed, lots of good info here. Good luck with your job search OP!

The most important thing is don't ignore either issue - file your taxes on time and deal with the Washington ESD overpayment promptly. Both problems get worse if you procrastinate.

0 coins

Absolutely. I'm going to get my taxes filed this week and then focus on the overpayment issue.

0 coins

Smart approach. Getting organized and tackling things one at a time makes it much more manageable.

For what it's worth, I've been through this exact situation and it worked out fine. Filed my taxes, got my refund, paid back the overpayment in installments. It seemed overwhelming at first but really wasn't that bad.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's really helpful to hear from someone who's been through the whole process.

No problem. The anticipation and worry is usually worse than the actual reality of dealing with it.
