keep us updated on how it goes! these denial situations help other people understand what to watch out for
This thread should be pinned or something. Denial reasons are one of the most confusing parts of the whole unemployment process and Washington ESD doesn't explain things clearly in their letters.
For anyone reading this thread later - if you're having trouble getting through to Washington ESD on the phone to ask about benefit duration or any other questions, that Claimyr service mentioned earlier really does work. I was skeptical but tried it when my claim got stuck and it connected me to an agent within an hour instead of me calling for days.
Definitely legit. The video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ shows exactly how it works if you want to check it out first.
Bottom line - plan for 26 weeks maximum, file every week without fail, document your job search meticulously, and report all income honestly. Follow those rules and you'll get your full benefit period.
Just want to add that your benefit amount stays the same for your entire benefit year unless you have qualifying circumstances for a recalculation. So once you figure out why it's $387, that's what it'll be every week (minus any deductions for part-time work).
Hope you get it figured out! The math should work out once you have the right numbers to plug in. Don't give up if it doesn't make sense at first - these calculations can be tricky.
just remember you have to do the job search requirements even during adjudication. keep track of where you apply because they can audit your job search log at any time
Bottom line - being fired doesn't automatically disqualify you from unemployment. File your claim, be honest about what happened, and let Washington ESD make the determination. Most terminations for performance issues result in approved claims.

One more plug for Claimyr since I see people struggling with phone contact issues throughout this thread. I know I mentioned it before but it really did save me weeks of frustration. When you're already stressed about money, the last thing you need is to spend hours on hold just to get disconnected.

•I might actually try this. I've been calling Washington ESD for two weeks straight with no luck.

•Definitely check out the demo video first at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ so you know what you're getting into. It shows exactly how the service works.

Bottom line for the original poster - expect 2-4 weeks from filing to first payment in a best case scenario. Could be longer if there are any complications with your claim. Start your job search immediately and file your weekly claims religiously.
