If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Wait a second - am I the only one who didn't know you could file by phone? I've been using the website for months! How do you even set this up?

0 coins

I felt the same way when I first found out! You need to call the main ESD number (during regular business hours) and request a phone PIN. Once that's set up, you can call the weekly claims line at 800-318-6022. The automated system walks you through everything. Definitely worth setting up before the holiday!

i did the phone thing last week and it still took 3 days to get paid so maybe its just random luck when we get our money lol. nothing about ESD makes any sense to me anyway

0 coins

right?? one week its super fast then the next week its like did they forget about us?? i swear its just whoever is working that day and if they feel like pressing the approve button lol

Does anyone know if this affects the loaded4u cards too or just direct deposit?

0 coins

The Loaded4U debit cards are affected as well since they still rely on the banking system to process the transfers. All payment methods will be delayed by one day due to Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day being a federal banking holiday.

my cousin works at esd and said they're totally swamped right now with people calling about this exact issue... they get like thousands of calls every holiday about delayed payments. wish they'd just put a big notice on the website

They SHOULD put notices everywhere! I bet half their call volume is just people freaking out about where their money is. Such a waste of everyone's time.

If you need to get through to ESD, I've had success using Claimyr.com - they have a system that helps you bypass the phone queue. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 that shows how it works. Saved me hours of redial frustration when I had an adjudication issue last month.

Quick tip for the future - take a photo of your timecard or write down your hours at the end of each shift. Makes weekly claims so much easier when you have part-time work. I learned this the hard way!

That's a really good idea! I'm going to start doing that next week. Would save me this whole headache.

just wanted to say good luck! partial unemployment is confusing at first but gets easier

I wouldn't get too excited yet. My claim said "processing" for THREE WEEKS before finally changing to "paid" and then another week before I actually saw the money! The whole ESD system is designed to frustrate people into giving up. Also, be prepared that they might approve some weeks and deny others - that's what they did to me because of some stupid technicality about job search requirements even though I DID submit them. ESD is the WORST state agency by far!!

0 coins

Oh no, I really hope it doesn't take that long! I've been doing all my job search activities and documenting everything carefully. Did you end up appealing the weeks they denied?

0 coins

Yes I appealed and won after ANOTHER 6 weeks of waiting. Make sure you keep ALL documentation of EVERYTHING. They will try to trip you up on the smallest details. Take screenshots of your job search logs too - their system "lost" mine twice.

UPDATE: Just checked again this morning and now TWO more weeks have changed to "processing"! Still have two that say "pending" but definitely movement in the right direction. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

0 coins

Great news! They're clearly working through your weeks chronologically. This is a very positive sign - I'd expect the remaining weeks to change status in the next day or two, and payment would typically follow 1-3 business days after that. Keep us posted!

woohoo!! told ya it was a good sign!!

Don't wait for them to ask!! Upload EVERYTHING proactively! My adjudication dragged on forever because I was waiting for them to tell me what documents they needed. Finally I just uploaded everything I could think of - doctor's notes, termination letter, final paystub, everything. Magically my claim was approved 3 days later. They won't tell you what they need, you have to guess!!!

That's really helpful advice - thank you! I'll gather all my documentation tonight and upload everything tomorrow. Fingers crossed this helps resolve things faster.

has anyone actually been paid yet in 2025? my brothers been waiting since January 3rd and hasn't seen a penny. i think the whole system is broken this year

Mei Wong

Yes, many claims are being processed normally. The system isn't broken, but complex claims that require adjudication are taking longer than usual because of staffing shortages at ESD. Standard claims without separation issues or availability questions are typically processing within 2-3 weeks.
