Has anyone verified if Holiday season affects ESD payment processing? I'm wondering if the December timing might be causing extra delays with staff taking time off. Back in July when I was on unemployment, my payments started flowing immediately after approval, but that wasn't during any holiday period.
UPDATE: My claim status FINALLY changed from adjudication to paid this morning! The funds aren't in my account yet, but at least the status updated. For anyone with the same issue - it took exactly 11 days from approval letter to status change. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
Just to clarify some misinformation in this thread - the WorkSource career coach should file what's called a "non-penalty reschedule" in the RESEA system. This will remove the appointment failure flag from your account. It's actually form WS-23R, not WS-23A as someone mentioned above. The timeline for resolution depends on whether your claim goes into full adjudication or if they simply clear the flag. Full adjudication can take 3-6 weeks in 2025 with current backlogs, but a simple flag removal can be done in 3-5 business days if you get through to the right person. Make sure you continue certifying weekly while this is being resolved.
Thank you for the correction! I'll make sure to specifically request the WS-23R form. Is there a specific department I should ask for when I finally get through to ESD? I want to make sure I'm transferred to someone who can actually help with this particular issue.
Ask to speak with an adjudicator specifically about a WorkSource participation issue. Regular claims agents often can't clear these flags without approval from an adjudicator. If they try to just take a message, politely insist that you need to speak with someone who can address RESEA/WorkSource flags specifically.
UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! For anyone who might face this issue in the future, here's what worked: 1. I got my career coach to admit in writing it was her error 2. I had her supervisor submit the WS-23R form (thanks for the correction on that!) 3. I used Claimyr to actually get through to ESD (after trying for days on my own) 4. Spoke with an adjudicator who reviewed my documentation 5. They cleared the flag within 48 hours All my pending payments were released today - 16 days after the original issue. Not ideal, but at least it's fixed. The most frustrating part was just getting someone at ESD to actually look at my case. Once that happened, they agreed immediately that I wasn't at fault.
UPDATE: Just had my hearing and wanted to let everyone know what happened! My employer actually DID show up - it was someone from HR I've never even met before. But the good news is the judge ruled in my favor right on the call! The HR person couldn't provide any evidence that I quit voluntarily, and I had those emails showing the restructuring that I mentioned. The judge said I should see the decision letter in 7-10 days and then my payments should start processing if nothing else comes up. Thanks everyone for your help and advice!
Congratulations! Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims while you wait for the payments to start. It can sometimes take an extra week or two for them to process all the back payments after the decision is issued.
I had this same exact question last month! So frustrating right? The job search log will magically appear after your first weekly claim processes. Just make sure you're keeping track of everything - employer name, address, phone number, website, position, how you applied, etc. When I finally got to enter mine, it wanted WAY more info than I expected!
Here's the complete breakdown of when and how the job search log functions: 1. File initial claim (phone or online) 2. Wait for claim to process (typically 1-3 business days) 3. File your first weekly claim (answer YES to completing job searches) 4. After weekly claim processes, job search log appears in eServices 5. Enter all previous job searches retroactively For ALL job search activities, you need: - Date of activity - Type of activity (application, interview, etc.) - Company/organization name - Complete address including zip code - Phone number or email of contact person - Position applied for - Method of contact (online, in-person, etc.) - Results/status Keep all documentation such as confirmation emails as ESD conducts random audits. Failing an audit can result in benefit disqualification and repayment requirements.
