Congradulations on getting your payments! I'm in my 7th week of adjudication and literally about to be evicted. I tried calling the governors office yesterday afternoon but the woman who answered was super rude and said they don't handle ESD issues anymore and hung up on me. Maybe it depends who answers? I'm going to try again tomorrow morning and hope for someone different. This whole system is designed to make people give up i swear.
I'm so sorry you're dealing with that! That's really strange because they were super helpful when I called. Definitely try again and maybe try earlier in the day. When I called, I simply said "I'm calling because I've been stuck in ESD adjudication for over a month despite being approved for benefits, and I'm hoping someone could help point me in the right direction." Very polite and not demanding. The eviction situation sounds urgent - don't forget to also look into emergency rental assistance in your county while you wait for unemployment to come through.
Thanks for sharing your timeline! Quick question - after your payments were approved, how long exactly did it take for the money to appear in your bank account? I'm asking because my adjudication just cleared yesterday (after 6 long weeks), and my ESD account shows payments were sent, but nothing in my bank yet. Getting anxious since I have rent due Monday!
For me it was about 18 hours between status changing to "paid" in the ESD system and the money hitting my bank account. But I've heard it can take 24-48 hours depending on your bank. If ESD shows it as paid, you should be good! The first payment batch can sometimes take a bit longer than subsequent ones.
just wondering did u get the money yet? im in the exact same boat right now, won appeal yesterday and shows paid but nothing in my bank yet
For anyone reading this thread in the future: the standard processing time for ESD payments after they show as "paid" in the system is 2-4 business days for direct deposit. If it's been longer than that, first verify your banking information is correct in your eServices account, then contact ESD if necessary. Also, be aware that large backpay amounts from appeals are sometimes flagged for additional verification as a fraud prevention measure, which can add 1-2 extra days to the process.
has anyone noticed how the esd fraud dept seems to flag way more claims than before? i swear theyre just trying to save money by making the process so frustrating that people give up. my neighbor waited 9 weeks for his claim to clear the fraud dept and he works for the state government! makes no sense
FINAL UPDATE: My claim is FINALLY out of fraud review! The supervisor called me yesterday and removed the hold. She said they've been overwhelmed with cases and apologized for the delay. All my weeks are now processing for payment and I should receive the backpay within 3 business days. For anyone else stuck in fraud review purgatory - being able to actually speak to someone was the key. Thank you all for your advice and support through this nightmare!
This entire system is BROKEN!! I had my claim flagged FOUR TIMES last year for absolutely no reason. Each time I had to jump through hoops to prove I'm really me. Meanwhile I couldn't pay rent and nearly got evicted. And guess what? The landlord doesn't care that ESD's system is messed up! They just want their money! The fraud department will promise you the moon but don't hold your breath. Document EVERYTHING and be prepared to call them every single day until it's fixed.
UPDATE: For anyone following this thread or experiencing similar issues - ESD just released a statement acknowledging the problem with their fraud detection system. They're implementing a fix over the next 3-5 business days and have added additional staff to the fraud department. Claims flagged by this specific error should be prioritized for review. Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even if payments are paused.

One other thought - check your spam/junk email folders carefully. ESD has been sending some communications from new email domains in 2025 as part of their system upgrade, and many email providers are flagging them as spam. I've seen several cases where claimants missed important adjudication interview notices because they went to spam, which then caused extended delays in processing.

That's a great point! I just checked all my spam folders going back three months and unfortunately don't see anything from ESD that I missed. But I'll keep checking daily and also adjust my spam settings to make sure I don't miss anything going forward.
