Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

One more important thing to mention - if you file a new claim now, they'll evaluate your earnings from roughly October 2023 through September 2024 (your base year). If you had higher earnings during that period compared to the period they used for your September claim, your weekly benefit amount could actually be higher now. This is another reason filing a new claim makes sense in your situation.
That's a really good point! I actually got a raise in April 2024, so it sounds like filing new would capture those higher wages in the calculation. Definitely going with a new claim now.
dont forget u need to do ur work search activities!!! standby means u dont have to search for work but regular unemployment u gotta do 3 job search activities every week and log them. they're super strict about this now

Dude adjudicator spen like 2 minutes on the phone w/ me too and denied me lol. They basically decide b4 they even call u. I filed appeal but its been like 9 weeks waiting for hearing date. Keep filing ur weekly claims tho!!!
That 9-week wait is unfortunately common right now. There's a significant backlog at OAH for unemployment appeals. Make sure to prepare all your evidence while waiting. And good advice on continuing to file weekly claims - that's essential.
Quick update - we filed our appeal yesterday and requested all our records from ESD. Now we're preparing all the documentation and practicing for the hearing like many of you suggested. We'll definitely keep filing weekly claims too (thanks for that tip!). This community has been so helpful in navigating this process - it's made us feel much less alone in fighting this unfair denial. Will update when we eventually get a hearing date or if anything changes!
Good job taking action quickly! One more tip: if you submitted your appeal online through eServices, call OAH directly at 360-407-2700 after about 7-10 days to confirm they received it from ESD. Sometimes there are delays in ESD forwarding appeals to OAH. Getting confirmation that OAH has your case in their system will give you peace of mind while you wait for the hearing notice.

i switched from phone to online last month and honestly the website is better now. they fixed alot of the glitches. maybe just try filing online next week and see if it works better 4 u?
I might do that. Just worried about changing anything since the payments are coming through correctly now. Don't want to mess with what's working, you know?
Just to clarify one important point for anyone reading this thread: if you receive an overpayment notice because of accidentally filing twice, you should immediately file an appeal and explain the situation. The Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) often rules in the claimant's favor in these technical error cases IF you can document that you were confused by ESD's own system prompts. Keep records of all your filing confirmations, screenshots of misleading prompts, and dates when you filed. This will help tremendously if you need to appeal.
Thank you for that advice! I've been taking screenshots of everything just in case something goes wrong. It's so stressful dealing with these technical glitches when your benefits are on the line.

Has anyone else noticed that ESD seems to be flagging literally EVERYTHING for review lately? My coworker got flagged for "inconsistent work search activities" because he applied for jobs in two different industries. Like, hello? People need work wherever they can find it!

Update: I changed my direct deposit info yesterday and it went through fine! The system showed a confirmation message right away, and I took a screenshot like someone suggested. Also called ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above and the agent confirmed the change was processed and my next payment should go to the new account without any delays. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for the advice!
