Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. The 26 week thing is firm - I learned that the hard way. No exceptions, no extensions currently available. Plan accordingly and maybe start looking into food banks and other assistance programs if you're getting close to the limit without job prospects.
Harsh reality but probably good advice. Better to prepare for the worst case scenario than be caught off guard.

I exhausted my benefits last month and it's been really tough. Started driving for rideshare apps to make ends meet. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up to really start preparing before you hit that 26-week mark.
It's not easy. Making about 60% of what I was getting from unemployment, but it's something. Still applying for full-time jobs though.
Hang in there. I was in a similar spot and eventually found something. The gig work at least shows employment activity to future employers.

Just wanted to add that if you're in a union, check with them too. Sometimes they have additional resources or can help with the unemployment process.

Just file and see what happens honestly. The worst they can do is say no, and if you think you qualify then you probably do. The application process will walk you through everything step by step.

Good luck! Remember to file your weekly claims every week even if your initial claim is still being processed. Don't let those weeks go by without filing or you might lose them.
The system has definitely improved since the pandemic chaos but there are still delays sometimes. Just be patient and keep following up if you don't hear anything for a while. Most people do get approved if they legitimately qualify.

Just want to add - don't panic if the process seems overwhelming at first. Take it step by step and ask questions if you're not sure about something. Better to get it right the first time than have to fix problems later.

One last tip - set up direct deposit when you file your claim. It's faster than waiting for a debit card to arrive in the mail and you'll get your benefits sooner.
