If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

This whole thread has been super educational. If anyone needs to call Washington ESD about unemployment funding questions, definitely check out claimyr.com. Made my life so much easier when I had questions.

I'm definitely bookmarking that for when I need to call them again.

Same here. This thread answered most of my questions but it's good to know there's a way to actually reach them if needed.

Thanks everyone for all the explanations! I finally understand how unemployment funding works in Washington. Really helpful to know that Washington ESD pays the benefits but employers fund the system through taxes.

You're welcome! It's one of those things that seems confusing at first but makes sense once you understand the structure.

0 coins

Glad we could help clear it up. The unemployment system is actually pretty well designed when you see how all the pieces fit together.

Overall, if everything goes smoothly you're looking at 2-3 weeks from filing to receiving your first payment. But build in extra time in case there are delays. The system isn't perfect.

0 coins

That's helpful to set realistic expectations. I'll plan for 3-4 weeks just to be safe.

Smart approach. Better to be pleasantly surprised if it's faster than to be caught off guard by delays.

One last thing - keep all your documentation organized. Pay stubs, termination letter, any communication with your employer. You might need it for your claim or if you have to appeal anything later.

Good point. I'll gather all that stuff together before I file my claim.

Yes! And if you do get into an approved training program, you might be eligible for additional benefits through the Training Benefits program.

0 coins

Exactly! It's worth exploring before your regular benefits run out.

Just wanted to add that if you're getting close to exhausting your benefits, some counties have additional resources and programs that might help bridge the gap while you're still job searching. Might be worth looking into.

Good point. I wish I had known about local resources when I was in that situation.

I'll keep that in mind as I get further into my claim. Hopefully I'll find something before then though.

Bottom line: 26 weeks max for regular unemployment in Washington, but your actual duration depends on your wages. Check your account for exact numbers and plan ahead. The system isn't going to hold your hand through it.

Thanks everyone for all the info! This thread has been really helpful in understanding how it all works.

agreed, way more helpful than trying to navigate the washington esd website

THE WASHINGTON ESD SYSTEM IS SUCH A MESS! I qualified for maximum benefits but it took them 2 MONTHS to process my claim. By the time I got paid I was already behind on rent and bills. This state's unemployment system needs a complete overhaul!

I feel your frustration! The delays are ridiculous. When I was going through similar issues, I ended up using a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to Washington ESD much faster. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual human to get things resolved instead of waiting for the system to work.

Quick question - does the maximum benefit amount change if you're collecting partial unemployment while working reduced hours?

0 coins

Partial unemployment benefits are calculated differently. You can earn up to 30% of your weekly benefit amount without any reduction. Above that, they reduce your benefit dollar for dollar. So the maximum weekly amount stays the same, but you might not receive the full amount depending on your earnings.

That's helpful to know. I'm working part-time now so I wanted to understand how that affects my benefits.
