Thanks for starting this discussion. Really helped me understand why Washington ESD seems so overwhelmed and why so many of us are experiencing the same delays and frustrations.
You're welcome! It's been really enlightening to hear everyone's perspectives and experiences.
These kinds of discussions are important for understanding the bigger picture behind individual struggles.
The fact that we're all here having this conversation proves unemployment is a social problem! Individual issues don't create community discussions like this.
Just wanted to update - my pending issues finally cleared after 2 weeks. Turned out to be a simple wage verification. Payments started coming through the next day. Hang in there!
Thanks for the update! It's nice to hear success stories
One more thing - make sure your job search activities are properly documented in WorkSource. Sometimes pending issues are related to work search requirements not being met properly.
one more thing if you do get denied dont give up the appeal process actually works if you have a legitimate case like yours sounds like it is
How long does the appeal process typically take in Washington?
took me about 6 weeks total but that was during covid probably faster now
Best of luck with your claim! Being fired doesn't automatically disqualify you, especially for performance issues. The system is designed to help people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own, which sounds like your situation.
Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. This community has been really helpful in understanding my options.
Update us when you get your first payment! Always nice to hear success stories on here since there's usually so much frustration with the unemployment system.
Will do! Fingers crossed it comes through by Friday like others have said.
🤞 Hope it works out smoothly for you!
The whole unemployment process is so stressful. Even when you get approved you're still worried about whether payments will actually come through. The system really needs to be more user-friendly.
Totally agree. The uncertainty is the worst part. You'd think after approval everything would be straightforward.

I finally got my issue resolved through the messaging system after 3 weeks of waiting. Not ideal but at least it eventually worked. Sometimes patience is the only option.

•Three weeks though... that's a long time to wait when you need benefits to pay bills.

•Oh absolutely. I had to borrow money from family to get by. Not everyone has that option though.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and tips. This thread has been more helpful than anything on the official Washington ESD website. At least we know we're not alone in this struggle!

•Agreed! It's frustrating that we have to crowdsource solutions like this, but I'm grateful for the community support.

•This is what forums are for - real people helping each other when the official channels fail.
