If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The benefit year is also something to keep in mind - once you file a claim, that establishes your benefit year and you can't file a new claim until that year expires, even if your situation changes.

So if I find a job and then lose it again within that year, I can't file a new claim?

0 coins

You can reopen your existing claim if you have benefit weeks remaining, but you can't establish a new claim with potentially higher benefits until the benefit year expires.

0 coins

Bottom line - with your salary level you should qualify for close to the maximum benefit amount. Just make sure you file as soon as you become unemployed since there's no retroactive benefits for weeks you don't claim.

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I feel much more prepared now if I need to file a claim.

0 coins

Good luck! Hopefully you won't need it but it's good to be informed.

Just remember that even if you earn enough to get zero unemployment payment for a week, you still need to file your weekly claim to keep your claim active.

0 coins

That's a good point. So you file every week regardless of whether you expect to get paid?

0 coins

Exactly. Missing weekly claims can cause problems with your ongoing eligibility.

The bottom line is: report everything, keep good records, and when in doubt, ask Washington ESD directly. Better to be overly cautious than deal with overpayment issues later.

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I feel much more confident about taking on some part-time work now.

Good luck! Just remember to report all earnings honestly and you'll be fine.

This whole thread makes me grateful I had a solid emergency fund when I got laid off. 6 months expenses minimum should be everyone's goal. Hard lesson to learn when you're already unemployed though.

0 coins

Easy to say in hindsight. Not everyone can save 6 months of expenses, especially with how expensive everything is now.

Mei Lin

Agreed, most people are living paycheck to paycheck. The system is broken if losing a job means immediate financial crisis.

Final thought - create a budget specifically for unemployment period. Track every expense and see where you can cut temporarily. Things like streaming services, gym memberships, eating out - small cuts add up and can extend how long your savings last.

Already canceled Netflix and a couple other subscriptions. Looking at my budget now to see what else I can trim.

Good start! Every dollar you can save now gives you more time to find the right job instead of having to take the first offer out of desperation.

For anyone still struggling to get through to Washington ESD by phone, I had success with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Worth checking out if you're really stuck and need to talk to someone.

0 coins

I might have to try that if I run into problems. Hopefully the online application goes smoothly though.

0 coins

Yeah, definitely try the normal routes first. But it's good to know there are options if you get stuck.

Last thing - don't forget about the job search requirements! You need to be actively looking for work and keeping track of your job search activities. Washington ESD can ask to see your records at any time.

0 coins

Thanks everyone! This has been super helpful. I feel much more prepared to start the application now.

0 coins

Good luck! The process can be frustrating but stick with it. Once you get through the initial setup, the weekly claims are pretty straightforward.

0 coins

Last thing - don't let anyone pressure you into turning down suitable work while you're collecting benefits. Washington ESD has specific rules about what constitutes suitable work and it's not just any random job.

0 coins

Generally it means work that matches your skills and pays at least 70% of your previous wage, among other factors. There are detailed guidelines on the Washington ESD website.

0 coins

This saved me when someone tried to get me to take a minimum wage job way below my experience level. Know your rights!

0 coins

You got this! The initial application is the hardest part. Once you get into the routine of weekly claims and job searching, it becomes much more manageable. Don't stress too much about making small mistakes - the system is pretty forgiving as long as you're honest and trying to follow the rules.

Thanks everyone! This has been incredibly helpful. Feeling much more confident about starting the process now.
