Just want to add that partial unemployment really helped me when my hours got cut. Don't let people discourage you - even if the amount isn't huge, every little bit helps when you're struggling.
One more thing - make sure you keep track of your work hours and earnings. Washington ESD might ask for verification later, especially if your hours vary week to week.
washington esd really needs to make this information clearer on their website. I had to dig through so many pages just to find the basic requirements
One last tip - keep detailed records of everything from day one. Your work search log, any correspondence with Washington ESD, dates you filed claims, everything. You'll thank yourself later if any issues come up.
Update on my situation - I finally got through to someone at Washington ESD using that Claimyr service and they explained that my case is still under review. At least now I know what's happening instead of just waiting and wondering. The agent said I should hear something within the next week.
That's great that you got through! I'm definitely going to try Claimyr if I can't get through on my own. Did they charge you a lot?
Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I'm feeling much more confident about filing my claim now. Going to gather all my documents and apply online today. Will update you all on how it goes.
Keep us posted on your progress. And remember, if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD directly, don't hesitate to use that Claimyr service if the regular phone lines aren't working.

Been lurking on this thread and just wanted to say how helpful this discussion has been. I'm potentially facing a layoff situation soon and had no idea about any of this severance stuff. Definitely bookmarking this for reference.

•Glad it's helpful! The key takeaway is always file immediately when you become unemployed, regardless of severance or other complications.

Final update from me - got my monetary determination letter today and everything looks correct. Washington ESD correctly identified my severance period and my benefits will start the week after it ends. Really glad I filed right away instead of waiting.

•Perfect example of why timing matters with these claims. You're all set up now instead of scrambling later.
