Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

The most frustrating part is when your claim gets flagged for review and you can't get any information about why or how long it will take. That's when services like Claimyr become really valuable - actually getting to talk to someone who can explain what's happening.

Last tip - set up direct deposit as soon as your claim is approved. Paper checks take forever and can get lost in the mail. Direct deposit usually processes within 1-2 business days of your weekly claim being approved.

Last thing - if you work part-time while collecting benefits, you have to report those earnings. You can still get partial benefits as long as you don't earn more than your weekly benefit amount plus $5.
That's good to know. I might pick up some gig work while I'm looking for a full-time job.
Just make sure to report it accurately on your weekly claims. Better to be over-report than under-report.
Overall the system works, it just takes patience and attention to detail. File early, file consistently, keep good records, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You'll get through this!

One last tip - if you get denied for any reason, don't panic. You have the right to appeal and many denials get overturned. The appeals process is separate from the initial application but it's worth pursuing if you think the decision was wrong.
How long do you have to appeal if you get denied?
You have 30 days from the date of the determination notice to file an appeal. Don't wait until the last minute though.

For anyone reading this thread later - document everything during your appeal process. Save all emails, letters, and take notes during phone calls. It really helps if there are any issues with the payment processing.
Great advice! I kept detailed records throughout the whole process and it definitely helped during the hearing.
