If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just remember that unemployment statistics only tell part of the story. Labor force participation rates, wage growth, job quality - all that stuff matters too for understanding economic hardship.

Definitely going to incorporate those factors. This has been incredibly helpful context from everyone!

Good luck with your research! Sounds like a fascinating project.

If you need help getting specific data from Washington ESD for your research, their customer service can be hard to reach. I've had good luck with Claimyr for getting through to actual people there when I needed claim information.

What's Claimyr exactly? Seeing it mentioned a few times in this thread.

0 coins

It's a service that helps you get through to Washington ESD phone lines faster. Check out claimyr.com - they basically call for you and connect you when they reach an agent. Super helpful when you actually need to talk to someone there.

Whatever you do, don't trust the automated estimate when you first file. Mine was off by like $200/week and I didn't find out until I talked to an actual person.

0 coins

How do you get to talk to an actual person though? Every time I call I just get transferred around or hung up on.

Remember that your benefit year starts when you file your claim, not when you became unemployed. So don't delay filing if you think you might be eligible.

Good point, I filed the day after I got laid off. Hopefully that helps with getting payments started faster.

For anyone still reading this - I found that Washington ESD also sends email reminders about filing your weekly claim if you sign up for notifications.

0 coins

Oh that's perfect! I'll definitely sign up for those email reminders.

0 coins

Yeah, it's in your account settings. Just another way to make sure you don't miss a week.

0 coins

Summary for anyone skimming: File your weekly claim AFTER the week ends, most people do it on Sunday for the previous Sunday-Saturday week. Set up reminders so you don't forget!

0 coins

Perfect summary! That's exactly what I needed to know.

Glad this thread helped clear things up for you!

Just want to add that even if you think you might not qualify, it's often worth applying anyway. The worst they can do is deny your claim, and sometimes people are surprised to find out they do qualify. The eligibility rules can be complex and there are exceptions for various situations.

0 coins

That's encouraging. I guess I'll go ahead and file since I was laid off through no fault of my own.

0 coins

Definitely file soon! And make sure you have all your employment information ready - dates of employment, employer contact info, and reason for separation for all jobs in the past 18 months.

0 coins

Good luck with your claim! The process can be stressful but most people who are legitimately eligible do eventually get their benefits. Just be patient and persistent, especially if you run into any delays or issues.

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I feel much more confident about filing now.

You're welcome! Feel free to ask if you have more questions as you go through the process. We've all been there and know how confusing it can be.

just remember that unemployment is temporary - the goal is to find another job not live on benefits forever. that said the weekly amounts definitely help bridge the gap while you're searching

Easy to say when you're not facing eviction. Some of us need every dollar we can get right now.

i get it trust me. was just trying to be encouraging. the job market is rough right now

For OP - based on your $52K salary, you're probably looking at somewhere between $280-320 per week depending on how your earnings were distributed throughout the year. Not great but better than nothing while you job hunt.

0 coins

Thanks for the estimate! That's pretty much what I was hoping for. Should be enough to cover my basic expenses while I look for something new.

Just make sure you're actively job searching and keeping track of your contacts. Washington ESD requires 3 job search activities per week.
