Wishing you the best with your job search! Layoffs are tough but unemployment benefits really do help take some of the financial pressure off while you're looking.
Last thing - if you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD and can't get through, remember that Claimyr option. It saved me weeks of frustration when I had questions about my claim status. The video demo really shows how much easier it makes the whole process.
Claimyr helped me too when Washington ESD put my claim in adjudication for no clear reason. Got it sorted out way faster than trying to call myself.
If you need help navigating the Washington ESD system or getting through to someone, I had good luck with Claimyr when I was dealing with an adjudication issue. Really helped cut through the phone maze.
Third mention of Claimyr in this thread - must be pretty useful if multiple people are recommending it.
Last tip - sign up for direct deposit when you file your claim. It's much faster than waiting for a debit card to arrive in the mail. You can get your benefits 1-2 days sooner with direct deposit.
One more thing about Claimyr - I used it last month when my claim got stuck in adjudication and I needed to speak with someone urgently. The regular phone system was completely useless, but through Claimyr I was able to get through to an actual Washington ESD representative who explained exactly what was holding up my claim. Definitely worth checking out if you can't get through the normal way.
For anyone still struggling to reach Washington ESD by phone, I finally got through using Claimyr after weeks of trying on my own. The service connected me directly to an agent who was able to explain exactly why my claim was delayed and what additional information they needed. Worth checking out their website at claimyr.com if you're stuck like I was.
Just got off the phone with Washington ESD (finally!) and the agent confirmed they're seeing record numbers of claims. She said they're working overtime and weekends but still can't keep up with demand. At least they're aware of the problem and trying to address it.
