Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

One last thing - if your claim goes into adjudication and you need updates on the status, seriously consider using Claimyr to get through to an agent. Saved me weeks of frustration trying to get information about my case.

Best of luck OP. You've got good documentation and a legitimate case for good cause. The process may take time but don't get discouraged. Washington ESD does approve quit cases when the circumstances warrant it.

Last piece of advice - set up direct deposit when you file your claim! Getting a debit card in the mail takes longer and can be a hassle if there are any issues with delivery.

Welcome to the club nobody wants to join lol. But seriously, unemployment benefits are there for a reason and you paid into the system through your taxes. Don't feel bad about using them while you look for your next job.

Does anyone know how long you can collect unemployment in Washington? I know it used to be different during COVID but what's the current limit?
Standard unemployment benefits last up to 26 weeks in Washington state. There's also extended benefits that can kick in during high unemployment periods, but that's not available right now.
26 weeks goes by faster than you think when you're job hunting. Make sure to use the time wisely for networking and skills development.
Just got my determination letter yesterday - $523 per week for up to 26 weeks. The whole process took about 4 weeks from filing to approval. No major issues thankfully.
Congrats on getting approved! That's a decent amount. Now I'm more confident about filing my own claim.
Make sure you file your weekly claims on time every week. Missing even one can cause delays in your payments.

Got mine yesterday! Filed January 28th and it was direct deposited. $1,832 which was exactly what I calculated. There's hope everyone!

Thanks everyone for all the info and support. Sounds like I just need to be patient for another month or two. At least now I know it's normal to wait this long and the money is actually coming.
