Whatever you do, don't let your claim lapse by missing weekly certifications. If you stop filing for a few weeks, it can be a pain to reactivate your claim.
That's another situation where Claimyr really helps - getting through to reopen a claim or fix filing issues.
I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it really does work. I was able to talk to a Washington ESD agent and get my base period questions answered directly. Sometimes it's worth paying a little to avoid the hassle of trying to get through on your own.
Bottom line - don't let anyone tell you that you need to work somewhere for a full year to get unemployment in Washington. That's just not how the system works here. File your claim and let them determine your eligibility based on your actual earnings history.
One more vote for Claimyr if traditional methods aren't working. I know several people who have used it successfully now. Sometimes you just need that extra help to navigate the system.
Final tip - if you do get through to someone who can't help you, politely ask to be transferred to someone who can access adjudication files. Not all agents have the same level of system access.
The key is don't panic if it takes a while. I know it's hard when you need the money but most eligible claims get approved. Just make sure you keep filing your weekly claims so you don't lose any weeks.
Thanks everyone for all the advice and support! I'll keep checking my account and filing weekly claims. Hopefully I'll have good news to share soon. This community is really helpful for navigating the unemployment system.

Just remember that unemployment is temporary assistance, not a long-term solution. Use the time wisely to improve your skills or explore new career paths.

•That's a great attitude. WorkSourceWA also has training programs that you might be eligible for.

The most important thing is to file weekly claims on time every week, even if you haven't received your first payment yet. Missing a weekly claim can cause delays or loss of benefits.

•Good to know. I'll make sure to set a reminder so I don't forget.

•Yeah, I know people who missed weeks and had to go through appeals to get those benefits back. Not worth the hassle.
