honestly the hardest part isn't figuring out the benefit amount its dealing with washington esd customer service when you have problems. good luck getting through to anyone
That's exactly why services like Claimyr exist. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out.
Just want to echo what others said about being completely honest in your claim. Washington ESD can usually tell when someone is trying to hide details, and it never helps your case. Truth is always the best policy with unemployment claims.
Word of advice - screenshot everything! Keep records of all your weekly claims, job search activities, and any correspondence with Washington ESD. You never know when you might need to prove something later.
If you end up needing to contact Washington ESD about your claim, try calling right when they open at 8am. That's when you have the best chance of getting through without waiting forever.
Or use that Claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier. I tried the early morning calling and still couldn't get through half the time.
WASHINGTON ESD UPDATE: Just got off the phone with them (finally!) and they said there's been some delays this week due to system maintenance. Payments might be running 1-2 days behind schedule.
Final update from OP - my payment just hit my account this morning! Took exactly 3 business days from when it showed 'paid' status. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!

Bottom line - plan for 26 weeks maximum but hope you find work sooner. Use the time to really improve your resume and interview skills. The job market is competitive so make every application count.

One last thing - if you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD about anything related to your benefit duration or claim status, that Claimyr service can really help cut through the phone system hassles. Their website is claimyr.com if you end up needing it. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get straight answers.

•I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run into any issues. Hopefully my claim will be straightforward but good to know there are options if I get stuck.

•Having a backup plan for getting help is always smart. The unemployment system can be complicated even for simple claims.
