Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

How long does it take for Washington ESD unemployment to process the claim - 5 weeks and counting

Filed my initial unemployment claim with Washington ESD back in early December and it's been 5 weeks now with no movement. My claim status just says 'under review' and I haven't received any correspondence about what's holding it up. I know they're probably swamped but I'm starting to panic about my mortgage payment. Has anyone else experienced these kinds of delays recently? What's the typical timeframe for Washington ESD to process a new claim these days?

Just want to give everyone hope - my claim was approved after 5 weeks and I got my first payment 3 days later. The backpay covered all the weeks I was waiting. Hang in there!

Keep filing those weekly claims and it should work out. The wait is awful but the system does eventually work.

For what it's worth, I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it actually worked. Got connected to Washington ESD within a couple hours and found out my employer hadn't sent in their response yet. At least now I know what's going on instead of just wondering.

Washington ESD unemployment rates - who measures unemployment statistics in our state?

I've been trying to understand how Washington ESD tracks unemployment numbers and who's responsible for measuring these statistics. I keep seeing different unemployment rates reported in the news and I'm curious about the process. Does Washington ESD handle this internally or is it done by another agency? Also wondering if there's a connection between these measurements and how they process individual claims like mine that's been stuck in adjudication for weeks.

When to apply for unemployment benefits - Washington ESD timing question

I'm getting laid off next Friday and wondering about the timing for filing my unemployment claim with Washington ESD. Should I wait until after my last day of work or can I apply beforehand? My employer said they're giving me two weeks severance pay - does that affect when I should file? I've never done this before and don't want to mess up the timing and delay my benefits. Any advice on the best time to submit my application?

final tip - take screenshots of everything when you file your claim! washington esd's website can be glitchy and having proof of what you submitted can save headaches later

I'm trying to figure out if I can draw unemployment benefits in Washington state. I worked part-time at a retail store for about 8 months before they cut my hours down to basically nothing. I'm not sure if I qualify since it wasn't a full layoff and I was only part-time. Does anyone know what the requirements are for Washington ESD unemployment? I've never filed before and don't want to waste time if I'm not eligible.

Just wanted to add - if you worked for multiple employers during your base period, make sure to include ALL of them when you file. Washington ESD will contact each one to verify your wages.

Can I get Washington ESD unemployment and short term disability at the same time?

I'm really confused about whether I can collect both unemployment benefits from Washington ESD and short-term disability payments at the same time. I got laid off from my warehouse job in December but then hurt my back pretty bad right after. My doctor says I can't work for at least 6-8 weeks. I already filed my UI claim with Washington ESD but now I'm wondering if I should also apply for short-term disability through my old employer's insurance. Can you collect both or do I have to choose one? I don't want to mess up my unemployment claim by applying for disability too.

I'd lean toward STD given your injury timeline. You were laid off, then injured, so you're legitimately unable to work now regardless of the layoff.
