For what it's worth, I also had success with that Claimyr service when I needed to talk to someone at Washington ESD about my severance situation. Way better than the endless phone tree. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get clarity on your specific circumstances.
Bottom line - file now, report honestly, expect delays if you're getting ongoing severance payments. The Washington ESD system isn't perfect but it works if you follow the rules and are patient with the process.
the payment schedule is definitely weekly but man the timing can be unpredictable sometimes, especially around holidays
My theory is that they make it deliberately difficult to discourage people from filing claims. The harder it is, the fewer people will stick with it through the whole process.
The lack of transparency is what gets me. They'll put a hold on your claim but won't tell you specifically what they need or how long it will take. Just 'under review' forever.
For what it's worth, 26 weeks is actually pretty standard. Most states offer between 12-26 weeks, so Washington is on the higher end. Could be worse.
Bottom line: 26 weeks maximum in Washington, no exceptions unless there's a federal extension program (which there isn't right now). Use the time wisely to find good work, meet all the job search requirements, and file your weekly claims on time. Good luck everyone!

Just want to add that if you're working for temp agencies or doing gig work, make sure those earnings are actually reported to Washington ESD. Sometimes that income doesn't count toward your base period if it's not properly reported as covered employment.

•Good point! Both my jobs are regular W-2 employment so I think I'm okay there.

•Yeah 1099 work usually doesn't count unless you've been paying into the system voluntarily

Thanks everyone for all the info in this thread! Really cleared up my confusion about the work requirements. Seems like the key thing is having enough total earnings in your base period, not how many hours per week you worked.

•Exactly! This has been super helpful. I feel much more confident about understanding the requirements now.

•Glad we could help clarify things. The earnings requirement is definitely the main hurdle for most people.
