Last mention of this but seriously, if you do need to contact ESD for any reason during your claim, save yourself the headache and use Claimyr. I've recommended it to several friends now and everyone has had success getting through. The peace of mind is worth it when you're dealing with benefit delays.
Main thing is don't panic if the process seems overwhelming at first. Thousands of people file unemployment claims every week and most go through without major issues. Take it step by step and you'll be fine.
Keep filing those weekly claims no matter what. I know someone who stopped filing while waiting for approval and it messed up their whole claim when it finally went through.
This whole thread is making me want to double-check my own paystub! I just assumed everything was correct but now I'm second-guessing myself.
Update for anyone following this thread - I talked to my HR department and they confirmed it was a payroll setup error. They're fixing it starting with my next paycheck and will make the retroactive contributions to Washington ESD. Thanks everyone for the help!
Update us when you hear back from Washington ESD! I'm curious how LLC cases are being handled lately.
Pro tip: when you file, be very clear in your application that you were a W-2 employee of your own LLC, not a contractor or owner drawing distributions. Use the exact language they expect to see.

automation is the future whether we like it or not. at least washington state has decent unemployment benefits compared to other states. take advantage of the time to figure out your next move

•True, could be worse. Trying to stay positive about it being an opportunity for change.

Filed for Washington ESD benefits when my factory job got automated last year. Super straightforward process, got approved in about 2 weeks. The hardest part was actually getting through on their phone line when I had questions, but that's a whole different issue. Good luck with your claim!

•That phone line issue is exactly why I recommend Claimyr - saves so much hassle when you need to actually talk to someone at ESD.
