If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The $999 maximum applies to regular unemployment insurance. If you're on standby status or other special programs, the calculation might be different. Most people are on regular UI though.

What's standby status? I haven't heard of that before.

0 coins

Standby is when your employer temporarily lays you off but expects to call you back within a specific timeframe. You don't have to do job searches in that case, but the benefit calculation is the same.

Thanks everyone for all the detailed info about maximum benefits. This thread has been way more helpful than the Washington ESD website for understanding how the calculations work.

Agree, the official website makes everything sound so complicated. Real people explaining it in simple terms is much better.

That's what these forums are for - helping each other navigate the bureaucracy. Good luck with your claim!

Whatever you do, don't try to hide it or make up stories. Washington ESD investigators deal with this stuff all day and they can spot lies immediately. Honesty is your best policy here.

Definitely planning to be completely honest. I'm just scared about the financial impact.

Final update: I used Claimyr and actually got through to Washington ESD today! The agent was understanding about it being an honest mistake. I have to pay back $1,847 in benefits plus a $369 penalty, but they're letting me do a payment plan. No criminal charges or anything. Thanks everyone for the advice and for not making me feel like a complete criminal.

way better than what I had to deal with. glad you got it sorted

See? Told you it wouldn't be the end of the world. Now you know for next time!

6 weeks is way too long but at least you got it. Still waiting on mine.

0 coins

Keep filing your weekly claims and it will come through. The wait is awful but worth it.

0 coins

Just want to add - make sure you keep doing your weekly claims even while you're job searching. I made the mistake of skipping a week and it messed up my payments for a month.

0 coins

Good to know! I haven't started my weekly claims yet but I'll make sure to stay on top of them.

0 coins

Yeah the weekly claims are super important. Washington ESD is really strict about that - miss even one week and you have to explain why.

0 coins

The bottom line is that unemployment insurance is exactly that - insurance. Employers pay premiums (taxes) and when claims are filed, benefits come from the insurance fund. It's no different than any other type of business insurance, really.

0 coins

That's a really good way to think about it. Makes me feel less guilty about filing my claim.

0 coins

Exactly! You wouldn't feel bad about using car insurance after an accident, right? Same principle here.

0 coins

just remember to keep looking for work while you're on benefits. they do check up on the job search requirements so don't slack off on that part

0 coins

Definitely planning to keep looking, I want to get back to work as soon as possible.

One final piece of advice - set up direct deposit when you file your claim. It's much faster than waiting for checks in the mail. The money usually hits your account within 1-2 business days after your weekly claim is processed.

0 coins

Perfect, I'll make sure to set that up right away.
