If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Washington ESD has been pretty good about helping people who are in mixed work situations like yours. The important thing is that you're actively seeking full-time employment and you lost your main job involuntarily.

That definitely gives me confidence to move forward with the application. Thanks for all the support!

Hope this thread helped answer your question! Sounds like you're in a pretty typical situation for unemployment benefits eligibility.

0 coins

It really did help a lot. I feel much more informed about the process now. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and knowledge!

0 coins

Thanks everyone for clearing this up! I was so confused about this exact same thing.

0 coins

No problem! It's definitely not obvious and I bet tons of people get confused about this.

0 coins

Exactly - seems like something they should make clearer on their websites.

Just to summarize for anyone else reading - you file unemployment where you WORKED, not where you LIVE. The state where your employer paid unemployment insurance taxes is where you file your claim.

0 coins

Perfect summary! That's the key thing I needed to understand.

0 coins

Wish I had known this rule years ago when I was in a similar situation.

One more thing - make sure you report any severance pay or vacation payout you receive from your employer. This can affect your benefit amount or delay payments if you don't report it upfront.

0 coins

I'm supposed to get two weeks of severance pay. Should I wait to file until after I receive that?

0 coins

No, file immediately but report the severance when you file your weekly claims. Washington ESD will adjust your payments accordingly but you don't want to delay filing your initial claim.

0 coins

Good luck with your claim! The Washington ESD system can be frustrating but most people do get through the process eventually. Just stay on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about filing my claim now.

0 coins

You've got this! Unemployment can be stressful but at least Washington state has decent benefits compared to other places.

0 coins

One more thing - if you do end up appealing, make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while the appeal is pending. A lot of people make the mistake of stopping their weekly claims during an appeal.

0 coins

Nope, you keep filing during the appeal process. If you win the appeal, you'll get paid for those weeks. If you don't file, you lose those weeks permanently.

0 coins

This is really important advice that not enough people know about!

Good luck with everything OP. Sounds like you have a solid case if you were legitimately laid off from steady work. The Washington ESD system has its flaws but it does work when you know how to navigate it.

0 coins

Thanks everyone, this has been way more helpful than anything I found on the official Washington ESD website. I'm going to start with the online appeal and try that Claimyr service to talk to someone.

0 coins

That sounds like a solid plan. Hope it works out for you!

0 coins

Just to add to what others said about Claimyr - I used it when my claim got stuck in adjudication and couldn't get through the normal phone lines. It connected me to an agent who explained exactly why my claim was delayed and what I needed to do to resolve it.

0 coins

Yeah the demo really shows how it works. Much better than me trying to explain it in a comment.

0 coins

I'm going to try it too. At this point I'll pay reasonable money to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD.

Bottom line: unemployment = unemployment insurance = UI = benefits. They're all the same program through Washington ESD. Use whichever term feels natural to you.

This thread probably helped a lot of people who had the same question.

Good luck with your claim! The process can be confusing but you'll figure it out.
