If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just wanted to add that Claimyr really does work for getting through to Washington ESD. I was skeptical at first but it saved me weeks of frustration. As for the 1930s, I think a lot of it was just bad timing - everything that could go wrong did go wrong at once.

Thanks for the recommendation. And yeah, it was like a perfect storm of bad economic factors all hitting at once.

0 coins

Multiple system failures happening simultaneously. No single cause but everything amplified everything else.

Great discussion! It really puts our current Washington ESD problems in perspective. Yes the system is slow and frustrating, but at least we have something. People in the 1930s faced unemployment with zero safety net. That's terrifying.

0 coins

Absolutely. Complaining about Washington ESD delays seems petty compared to having no help at all.

0 coins

True, but we can still demand better. Just because it's better than nothing doesn't mean it's good enough.

This thread should be pinned - probably answers the most common question people have about dealing with Washington ESD. There are no walk-in offices, calling is nearly impossible, but services like Claimyr can actually get you through to an agent.

Agreed - would have saved me weeks of frustration if I'd found this information sooner

The key is knowing what options actually work vs what you think should work

One last tip - if you do get through to Washington ESD (however you manage it), take notes during the call. Write down the agent's name, reference numbers, and exactly what they tell you. Makes follow-up much easier.

Excellent advice - documentation is crucial with Washington ESD

Wish I'd thought of that during my call today, but good to know for next time

The weekly filing system actually makes sense when you think about it. Your employment situation can change week to week, so they need current information to determine if you're still eligible.

0 coins

True, but the system could be more user-friendly. Half the questions are confusing and the website crashes sometimes.

0 coins

I agree the technology could be better, but the concept is sound from a policy perspective.

Make sure you keep records of everything - every job application, every weekly claim filing, all your documentation. If something goes wrong you'll need proof of what you did.

0 coins

Company name, position applied for, date, method of application. I keep a simple spreadsheet with all this info.

Screenshots of your online applications are good too, in case websites change or job postings disappear.

This whole thread should be pinned somewhere. So many people don't understand how the base period calculation works and end up accepting lower benefits than they qualify for.

0 coins

Agreed. The Washington ESD website doesn't explain it clearly enough.

0 coins

Yeah, they make it sound like your benefit is just based on your recent job, but it's much more complicated than that.

0 coins

Update #2: Got approved for alternate base period! My weekly benefit went from $180 to $412. They're also sending me back pay for the weeks I already certified. Huge relief!

0 coins

This is so encouraging! I just submitted my request for alternate base period yesterday.

0 coins

Congrats! That back pay is going to be a nice chunk of change too.

0 coins

Been collecting for 8 weeks now and still have 18 weeks left. The weekly claims are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Just make sure you keep track of your job search activities for each week.

0 coins

Are they strict about the job search log? I've been kind of lazy about documenting everything.

0 coins

I'd definitely keep better records. Washington ESD can audit your job search activities and if you can't prove you did them, they can make you pay back benefits.

0 coins

One more thing - your 26 weeks doesn't reset if you find a job and then get laid off again. You'd need to work enough to establish a new base period to get a fresh 26 weeks. So try to make them count!

0 coins

Good point. Definitely want to find something stable so I don't have to go through this again anytime soon.

0 coins

Actually, you can sometimes get a second benefit year if you worked enough in the meantime. But yeah, better to find stable work.
