If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Been there! Filed in September and my weekly benefit amount ended up being $487. The calculation was pretty straightforward once I got my determination letter - they used my Q2 wages of $12,662 divided by 26 weeks. Just had to be patient and wait for the paperwork.

That's helpful to know! How long did it take from filing to getting your first payment?

0 coins

About 3 weeks total. One week for the determination letter, then had to wait for the debit card to arrive, then filed my first weekly claim and got paid the following week.

make sure you keep track of all your job search activities from day one. washington esd can audit you anytime and if you don't have proper documentation they can make you pay back everything. happened to my neighbor last year

0 coins

What kind of documentation do they want for job search activities?

0 coins

You need to log each job contact with the employer name, contact method, date, and position applied for. Keep copies of applications, emails, and any responses you receive.

If you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD about this, I had success using that Claimyr service when I was dealing with a complex eligibility issue. It saved me a lot of time and frustration trying to get through on the phone.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep that in mind if I need to speak with someone at ESD about my specific situation.

I was skeptical about using a service like that at first, but after trying to call ESD directly for weeks without success, I gave it a try and it actually worked. Connected me to an agent who was able to answer all my questions about voluntary separation.

UPDATE: Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice. I decided to document everything and file a formal complaint with HR first. If that doesn't resolve things, at least I'll have a paper trail showing I tried to address the issues through proper channels. Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Smart move. Hope HR takes your complaint seriously and actually does something about the situation.

Thanks again everyone. This forum has been really helpful in understanding my options and the potential consequences of different choices.

The amount you get also depends on how many weeks you're eligible for. Higher earners might get more money per week but fewer total weeks of benefits.

0 coins

Actually in Washington, everyone gets up to 26 weeks of regular unemployment benefits regardless of their benefit amount. The duration doesn't vary based on how much you earn.

0 coins

Oh really? I thought it was different. Thanks for the correction!

Bottom line: expect roughly half your weekly wage up to $999/week, paid weekly after you file your weekly claim. File ASAP after losing your job because there's a waiting week and you want to get the process started.

Glad we could help! The Washington ESD system isn't too bad once you understand how it works.

0 coins

And remember, if you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD, don't hesitate to use tools like Claimyr to get through their phone system.

0 coins

Bottom line: 8 months of recent work should easily qualify you in Washington as long as you earned decent wages. The employment gap before that doesn't matter for eligibility purposes. Your base period includes 18 months of potential work history, not just your most recent job.

glad we could help! unemployment can be confusing but you're definitely not the first person to wonder about this stuff

Good luck with your application! Hope it goes smoothly for you.

One last tip - when you do apply, make sure to keep track of your confirmation number and save copies of everything. Washington ESD's online system can be glitchy and you want proof that you submitted everything correctly and on time.

0 coins

Will definitely do that! I've heard too many stories about applications getting lost in the system.

0 coins

Screenshot everything is my advice. The system logged me out mid-application once and I had to start over.

For budgeting purposes, assume you'll get roughly 40-50% of your previous weekly gross pay. That's usually pretty close for most people.

0 coins

That's a good rule of thumb. Makes it easier to plan ahead.

0 coins

Yep, and remember it's temporary so use the time wisely to find your next job.

0 coins

The amount also depends on how much you made in your 'base period' which is the first 4 of the last 5 completed quarters before you filed. So recent pay raises might not count if they happened too recently.

0 coins

That's complicated. I got a raise about 3 months ago so hopefully that counts.

0 coins

It probably will count depending on when exactly you file. The base period calculation can be tricky.
