If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Final update: My claim was FINALLY approved yesterday, after almost 8 weeks total! I received all my backpay for the weeks I filed. For anyone else dealing with a federal employment claim - be prepared to wait longer than normal, make sure you get that federal wages form, and keep filing every week while you wait. Thanks again to everyone who helped!

Excellent! Glad to hear your claim was approved. This is helpful information for others in similar situations. Just to confirm - did they pay you for all 8 weeks at once as retroactive payment?

0 coins

Yes, they paid all 8 weeks at once. It was such a relief to see that money hit my Money Network card after waiting so long! Now I just need to stay on top of the job search requirements.

Congrats on getting approved Emma! This thread is super helpful - I'm in week 4 of waiting on my federal claim (worked for VA hospital) and was starting to panic. Sounds like I need to call and ask about that federal wages form specifically. Did Claimyr actually work well for getting through? The regular UC phone line has been impossible for me too.

0 coins

Yes, Claimyr worked really well for me! I was skeptical at first but it got me connected to an actual person within about 15-20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. Definitely worth trying if you've been stuck on the phone lines. And yes, specifically ask about the federal wages form - that was the missing piece for me. At week 4 you're right in that timeframe where you should probably call to make sure nothing is missing from your claim. Good luck!

@Angel Campbell - I m'also waiting on a federal claim worked (for the Department of Defense and) I m'at week 5 now. Based on what everyone s'shared here, it seems like that federal wages form is crucial. I called yesterday using the regular line and couldn t'get through after 3 hours of trying. Might have to try that Claimyr service too. Have you checked your mail for any forms they might have sent? Some people mentioned they mail it instead of putting it in the portal.

Quick update I forgot to mention - when I used that service the first commenter mentioned (Claimyr) the UC rep told me they dont even look at claims with issues until they've been sitting for at least 3-4 weeks. So if your only a month in they probly havent even assigned it to anyone yet. So frustrating!!!

0 coins

That's infuriating but also helpful to know. I think I'm going to try both the state rep route and maybe that call service to see which one works. Thanks everyone for the advice - this has been really helpful!

I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation right now! Filed my claim 3 weeks ago after getting laid off when my company "restructured" (aka fired half the staff), but my claim is stuck because I left a job about a year ago to take this position. It's so frustrating that they penalize you for making good career moves in the past when your current layoff has nothing to do with that old job. I've been checking my dashboard daily but no movement yet. Reading everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and terrifying - at least I know I'm not alone but the wait times sound brutal. Definitely going to look into contacting my state rep based on the suggestions here!

btw if ur really worried about timing u can switch to the Money Network card instead of direct deposit. payments usually hit that 1 day earlier than bank accounts

0 coins

This is actually true. The PA UC Money Network debit card typically receives funds 1 business day earlier than direct deposit because it eliminates the bank processing step. You can request to switch to the card through your UC dashboard under payment preferences, but be aware that any pending direct deposits will still go to your bank account before the switch takes effect.

I can relate to this anxiety! I've been on UC for about 4 months now and have noticed the timing can be really inconsistent. Some weeks it hits my account at 9am, other weeks not until late afternoon or even the next morning. What I've learned is that as long as your payment status shows "paid" in the UC portal, you're good - it's just a matter of when your specific bank processes it. I actually started keeping a little buffer in my checking account specifically because of these timing variations. The stress of waiting for bills to clear when you're already dealing with unemployment is real!

0 coins

Yes! The anxiety is so real when you're already stressed about money and then your payment timing is unpredictable. I really like your idea about keeping a buffer - that's smart financial planning that I should probably adopt too. It's reassuring to hear from someone else who's been dealing with this for a while. Did you ever figure out if there's any pattern to when yours comes in, or is it just completely random week to week?

0 coins

Been through this exact situation! The timing can be nerve-wracking when you're waiting on that first payment. Since you got the credit union account set up, you should be in good shape - they're usually really reliable for UC deposits. Just keep in mind that if you updated your direct deposit info after they already started processing Friday's payment, this week's deposit might still try to go to whatever method you had before (or get delayed while they sort it out). The good news is that once you get past this first payment hurdle, the timing becomes super predictable. Also, definitely keep that Money Network card request active as a backup - even though it's taking forever, it's nice to have as a safety net. And don't stress too much about the 1-2 day delay after the payment date - that's totally normal even for people who've been on UC for months. The system just needs that processing time to push the money through!

Thanks for the heads up about the timing! You're probably right that this week's payment might still try to go to my old method since I just updated it today. I'm hoping the credit union setup will work smoothly going forward though. It's really reassuring to hear from everyone who's been through this - I was starting to panic thinking I'd messed something up. The backup Money Network card idea makes total sense too. Better to have multiple options than get stuck waiting again!

I've been on PA UC for about 8 months now and can confirm what others are saying about the timing. Your payment date (Friday the 13th) is when they process it, not when you receive it. With direct deposit to a traditional bank account, it's typically 1-2 business days later - so you'd likely see it Monday or Tuesday. However, since this is your first payment, it could take a bit longer (3-4 business days) as they verify everything on their end. Regarding CashApp - unfortunately no, PA UC doesn't support payment apps like CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal for direct deposit. You need either a traditional bank account (checking/savings) or their Money Network debit card. Online banks like Chime, Ally, or Capital One work fine as long as they provide proper routing and account numbers. If you're in a time crunch, I'd suggest opening a basic checking account at a local bank or credit union ASAP. Many can give you the account details immediately so you can update your direct deposit info. Just keep in mind that if Friday's payment is already being processed, the change might not take effect until your next payment cycle. Good luck!

This is such a comprehensive overview - thank you! I'm actually in a similar boat as the original poster and this really helps clarify the timeline. The 3-4 business days for first payments makes sense, even though it's stressful when you're waiting. I'm curious about one thing though - when you update your direct deposit info in the PA UC system, do they send any kind of confirmation that the change went through? I want to make sure I don't miss any steps that could delay things further.

0 coins

Yes, they do send a confirmation! When you update your direct deposit info in the PA UC system, you should get an email confirmation within 24 hours, and it will also show the updated banking info when you log into your dashboard. If you don't see either of those within a day or two, definitely call to make sure the change went through properly. I learned this the hard way when I thought I had updated mine but it turned out there was a glitch and my payment got delayed by a whole week.

This entire thread has been so helpful to read through! As someone who's currently waiting on a different type of UC issue (separation pay), seeing the real experiences and timelines gives me hope that persistence really does pay off. The healthcare staffing crisis angle is particularly eye-opening - it makes total sense that performance issues in that industry are often systemic rather than individual failures. @Charlee Coleman congratulations on getting your approval! Your willingness to keep updating this thread with your progress has created such a valuable resource for others. The fact that your claim was actually approved a week before the system showed it really highlights how unreliable the online portal can be. For anyone else reading this who's dealing with performance-related issues, the documentation tips and early morning calling strategy seem to be the key takeaways. It's also reassuring to see that PA UC does recognize when workplace conditions contribute to performance problems. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community support makes such a stressful process feel more manageable!

@NeonNebula This thread really has become an amazing resource! I'm totally new here but stumbled across this while researching my own PA UC situation (just filed last week for a layoff). Reading through everyone's experiences and seeing the actual timelines and strategies is so much more helpful than the vague info on the official UC website. The healthcare worker stories are really eye-opening - it's awful that people are getting penalized for performance issues when they're dealing with impossible staffing situations that are completely out of their control. @Charlee Coleman your persistence really paid off and I m'so glad you got approved! The system glitch thing is honestly infuriating but at least you didn t'give up calling. Definitely saving all these calling tips and documentation advice in case I run into any issues with my own claim. This community seems really supportive compared to other forums I ve'looked at!

Wow, this thread has been such a rollercoaster to read through! @Charlee Coleman I'm so relieved you finally got approved - what a nightmare that you were actually approved a week earlier but the system glitch kept you in the dark! That's absolutely maddening but I'm glad your persistence paid off. I'm dealing with my first ever UC claim right now (got laid off from my job at a medical supply company two weeks ago) and honestly this whole thread has been more educational than anything I've found on the official PA UC website. The real-world timelines, the calling strategies, the documentation tips - it's all gold. The healthcare worker stories really hit me hard too. It's infuriating that people are getting flagged for performance issues when they're dealing with impossible working conditions that are completely systemic problems, not individual failures. Really glad to see that PA UC is starting to recognize these situations for what they really are. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and especially to those who came back with updates. This is exactly the kind of community support that makes navigating these stressful bureaucratic processes feel less overwhelming!
