This is an important warning. PA UC overpayment notices should never be ignored, even if you believe they're in error. If you miss the appeal deadline, Pennsylvania can and will: • Garnish your wages (up to 25%) • Intercept your state tax refunds • Place liens against your property • Add significant interest and penalties to the original amount • Report the debt to credit bureaus In some cases, they can even pursue criminal charges for unemployment fraud if they believe the overpayment was intentional, though this is rare for system errors like these 2021 notices appear to be.
Just wanted to update everyone. I had my appeal hearing yesterday for my similar overpayment notice. The examiner immediately saw the error when I showed my employment records. She said their system flagged a bunch of 2021 claims incorrectly during a recent audit. My case was dismissed on the spot! For anyone else dealing with this, definitely appeal and bring documentation of your employment during those weeks they claim you were paid.
Based on your follow-up responses, since your UC payment history shows "paid" but the Money Network card still shows pending, this is definitely a card issue rather than a UC issue. Call Money Network's direct customer service line at 888-233-5916 (not the automated system) and specifically ask for a representative. Tell them you need them to check for any holds or verification requirements on your account. Sometimes they place security holds if there's been any change in your login patterns or if the system flags anything unusual.

YES! Finally got it resolved this morning. Called Money Network using the direct customer service number someone suggested. Turns out they had placed a security hold because I had logged in from a different device last week (my sister's computer when mine was being repaired). They released the hold while I was on the phone and said funds should be available within 24 hours. Just checked and the money is there now! Such a relief.
I had a somewhat similar situation happen with my claim back in February. I ended up using the message center in my dashboard instead of calling. I sent a detailed message explaining exactly what happened and asking them to fix the issue. Surprisingly, they responded within 2 days and fixed it! My payment was processed the next day. Worth a try if you can't get through on the phone.
I'll try the message center right now! Did you use any specific wording that seemed to help get a faster response?
UPDATE: I finally got through to someone! I tried that Claimyr service that someone suggested above and it actually worked. Got connected to a PA UC rep in about 30 minutes. They explained that I accidentally started a Break in Claim when the ID verification popped up. The rep was able to fix it and release my payment! It should be on my Money Network card by tomorrow. Thank you all for the help and suggestions!
Just want to add - since you were let go on February 18th, 2025, make sure you file for the benefit week that includes that date. You can backdate your claim to the week you became unemployed, but only for a limited time. Also, start documenting your job search activities immediately, even before you're approved. PA requires verification of 6 work search activities per week (applying for jobs, attending job fairs, creating profiles on job sites, etc.). One more tip: after you file, check your dashboard daily for any "open issues" on your claim. Sometimes they need additional information and won't tell you except through the portal.
UPDATE: I filed my claim yesterday following your advice (listed the agency as employer, reason as "lack of work"). My dashboard already shows an "open issue" related to "employer separation" - I'm guessing they're checking with the agency. I also started applying for jobs right away and have documented 4 applications so far this week. Thanks everyone for the help! I'll update again when I hear something.

Just so you know, if your payment doesn't appear by the end of business today, you should check your PA UC dashboard to make sure there wasn't an issue with your weekly certification or an open issue on your claim. Sometimes payments get held up if there's a problem with the claim itself rather than just a processing delay.

•Just checked my dashboard and it says payment date was yesterday with status 'processed' - I guess that means it's just delayed in getting to my card? Will keep waiting but might try that Claimyr service if it doesn't show up by afternoon.

This happened to me twice in January. Both times I was panicking, but the money showed up around 10am-11am. The UC rep I eventually spoke with explained that there are different processing batches that run throughout the day. First batch usually hits overnight, but if you miss that cutoff, you might be in the mid-morning or afternoon batch. Whatever you do, don't pay for that boost feature! It's just Money Network trying to collect fees for something that will happen anyway.
