did u ever get the money for those first 4 weeks? seems weird they say approved but u didnt get paid
No, I haven't gotten any money at all yet! That's part of what's so frustrating. It says approved but nothing has hit my account.
Update us once you're able to speak with someone! This information could help others who run into similar situations with temporary medical conditions while on unemployment.
I will definitely post an update once I get this resolved. Hopefully it helps someone else avoid this headache!
I had this EXACT situation in January!!! They flagged my account because someone tried to hack into it back in 2020 during all that PUA fraud stuff. Even though I had nothing to do with it and am on regular UC now!!! Took me FOREVER to get it fixed and I nearly got evicted waiting for my money. The whole system is designed to make us fail I swear!!! 😡😡😡
Honestly it was like 3 weeks of pure hell. I kept calling and they kept saying "it's being processed" but nobody would actually DO anything. Finally I went to my state rep's office and they made some calls and magically it was fixed the next day. So if calling Treasury doesn't work definitely contact your state representative!!!
Update for anyone reading this thread later: As of March 2025, PA UC has implemented a new system where banking flags can now be resolved through your dashboard on the UC portal. Look for "Payment Method Issues" under the "My Benefits" tab, and you can electronically verify your identity and confirm your payment method. This often resolves these types of flags within 24-48 hours without calling. However, for urgent matters like the OP's situation, calling is still recommended.
Thanks for this update! I actually just got off the phone with Treasury and they were super helpful. They removed the banking flag and confirmed my payments will go to my Money Network card within 2 business days. For anyone with a similar issue - definitely call them directly, it only took about 20 minutes once I got through!
just curious but did u have to do the id.me verification thing? that was such a pain for me
Yes! The ID.me verification was actually pretty quick for me, but then I ran into the issue with my name not matching. The whole process would have been faster if they'd just asked for all documents upfront instead of requesting one thing at a time.
UPDATE: Just wanted to follow up since I saw your post. Has your payment come through yet? I know waiting for that first deposit can be stressful when bills are due.
YES! It finally came through this morning - took exactly 4 business days from approval. And you were right about the back pay - I got payments for all three weeks at once. What a relief! Thanks everyone for your help!
Don't panic yet! My reopening was approved after about 3 weeks (compared to the 10 weeks my initial claim took). The waiting is super frustrating though - I was checking my portal like 10 times a day! One thing that might help speed things up: check if you have any messages or tasks in your dashboard. Sometimes they need additional info but the notification emails end up in spam.
Thanks, that's good advice. I just double-checked my dashboard and don't see any tasks or messages yet, but I'll keep checking daily. It's weird how the system works sometimes!
has anyone tried contacting their state representative about speeding up claims? my sister did that and her claim was fixed in like 3 days after waiting for weeks

•Yeah, thankfully I did sign up for the TAMP coverage when I separated. At least I don't have to worry about medical costs right now. It's just everything else - rent, food, utilities, car payment...

I'd like to update everyone on this thread since I've seen several similar questions recently. PA UC has been experiencing technical issues with federal wage verification since they updated their system in January 2025. There is a workaround that seems to be helping claimants: 1. Submit your UCF-18/19 forms AND a signed letter requesting your claim be "manually adjudicated under the UCX program due to system limitations" 2. In the letter, cite PA UC Policy Letter 2025-03 (which addresses the known system issue with federal wages) 3. Provide a detailed wage calculation based on your military rank and time in service This approach has been successful for about 70% of the military claimants I've worked with in the past month. The other 30% still required intervention from a congressional office.

•Thank you for this detailed information! I had no idea there was a specific policy letter addressing this issue. I'll definitely include this in my follow-up. Would you happen to know where I can find a copy of PA UC Policy Letter 2025-03 to reference in my letter?

•Unfortunately the policy letters aren't publicly available on the website, but you can reference it in your letter anyway. The UC representatives will be able to look it up in their internal system. Just make sure you cite it exactly as "PA UC Policy Letter 2025-03 regarding Federal Wage System Integration Issues.
