Glad to hear your payments came through! For future reference, these occasional delays are normal with the PA UC system. Their processing times can fluctuate based on claim volume, system maintenance, or even just random hiccups in their antiquated system. As long as your claim shows 'paid' status in the system, the money will eventually be deposited. The best practice is to allow 1-2 business days from the pay date before becoming concerned about missing payments.
This is exactly why I always keep a small emergency buffer when possible - PA UC's payment timing can be so unpredictable! I've learned to expect these random delays every few weeks. It's frustrating because when they say "pay date 2/6" you'd think that actually means something, but apparently it's more like a suggestion 😒 At least it sounds like everyone's payments are starting to come through now. The system really needs an overhaul.
just go to the unemployment office in person. they cant ignore u when ur standing there
UPDATE: I finally got through!!! Used the Claimyr service that someone suggested here and was connected to a UC rep in about an hour. The rep was able to see that my open issue was just waiting for supervisor review - apparently they tried to call me last week but it went to voicemail (I never got a notification they called). He expedited my case and said my payments should be released within 3-5 business days. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help!
Awesome! Glad it worked out for you. Make sure to keep checking your portal for updates on your claim status.
So happy to hear you got it resolved! This gives me hope - I've been dealing with a similar open issue for weeks. Going to try the Claimyr service too. Thanks for updating us with the good news!
UPDATE: The money just hit my card this morning (Wednesday)! Exactly like many of you said - about 2 business days after the paydate in the system. I want to thank everyone who responded and helped ease my anxiety during this wait. After fighting for 14 weeks to win my appeal, these last few days of waiting were almost harder! For anyone else going through this, just know there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.
awesome!! glad u got ur money!
Thanks for updating us! This is helpful for others who might find this thread later with similar questions. And congratulations again on winning your appeal!
So happy to see your update that the money came through! This whole thread is going to be super helpful for other people dealing with appeal backpay delays. I'm bookmarking this for future reference since I'm sure I'll need it again knowing PA UC's track record. Congrats on finally getting what you were owed - 14 weeks is way too long for anyone to have to fight for benefits they're legally entitled to!
One last tip that might save you some time: take screenshots of the error message and have your ID ready when you do reach someone. They'll need to verify your identity before they can fix anything in the system. I'd also recommend preparing a list of all previous employers from the last 18 months with correct start/end dates, as they might ask for this information while they have you on the phone.
Great suggestion about the screenshots and having my employment info ready! I'll definitely do that.
UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! For anyone who might face this issue in the future - the problem was that my previous employer had somehow entered my birth month and day switched around in their records (put 05/11 instead of 11/05). The UC agent was able to override the error and update my information correctly in the system. My application is now processing! Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.
So glad you got it figured out! That's such a weird error - who would think to check if the employer switched your birth month and day around? Thanks for posting the update, this will definitely help other people who run into the same problem. Congrats on getting your application moving forward!

Just wanted to add that if your claim involves wages from another state (NJ in your case), the examiner will be specifically looking at the interstate wage transfer process. This is a common issue that can cause the "monetarily ineligible" status. The examiner will need to verify your NJ wages and combine them with your PA wages to determine your correct benefit amount. This process typically takes longer than standard claims, so I would set your expectations closer to 5-7 business days rather than 2 days. However, with your state rep's involvement, it should move much faster than it would otherwise.

•That's really helpful context, thank you. I'll adjust my expectations accordingly. Just having some kind of timeline and knowing that someone is actually looking at my claim is a huge relief after weeks of silence.

I went through something very similar last year - also had the "monetarily ineligible" status despite having plenty of work history. My state rep's office was incredibly helpful and actually got results where months of calling UC directly got me nowhere. In my case, they told me 3-5 days and it ended up being exactly 4 business days before my claim status changed. The key thing is that once the state rep gets involved, your case gets assigned to someone who can actually make decisions rather than just the front-line staff who can only read what's on their screen. One tip: when you check your dashboard, look specifically for any new "correspondence" or document requests. Sometimes they'll ask for additional verification before approving the claim, and responding quickly to those requests can make the difference between a quick resolution and another delay. Fingers crossed for you - the state rep route really does work when everything else fails!
