To summarize what everyone has said and add a bit more information: 1. File weekly claims every week starting the first Sunday after application 2. Be prepared for a 3-6 week wait, potentially longer if there's an employer dispute 3. Register with PA CareerLink immediately (this is required within 30 days of filing) 4. Complete and log 2 work search activities each week (applications, interviews, etc.) 5. If your husband has a specific skill set, make sure to accurately describe it for proper job matching The base year calculation should include both jobs since it uses the last 18 months of work history. This works in your favor for eligibility and benefit amount calculations.
Just want to add that you should also keep detailed records of everything - save screenshots of your weekly claims, keep copies of any correspondence, and document all the work search activities you do each week. PA can ask for proof of your job search efforts at any time. Also, if you haven't already, sign up for direct deposit when you apply - it's much faster than waiting for paper checks. Good luck to your husband, and don't get discouraged if it takes a while to hear back!
Glad to hear your card finally arrived! For anyone else still waiting, I had a similar experience last month - took exactly 10 business days for mine to show up. One thing that helped me was creating an account on the Money Network website (moneynets.com) even before I got my physical card. You can track your card status there and see if it's been shipped. Just need your SSN and some basic info from your UC claim. Also, once you do get the card, make sure to activate it right away and set up online access - makes checking your balance and transaction history much easier than calling every time.
This is super helpful info! I didn't know you could track the card on the Money Network website before getting it. That would have saved me so much anxiety during my wait. The online account setup tip is great too - I was definitely planning to just call every time I needed to check my balance. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Another tip for anyone waiting - if you have the Money Network mobile app, you can actually use your phone to make contactless payments at stores even before your physical card arrives! Just download the app, create your account with your card details (they'll email you the card number once it's issued), and add it to your phone's digital wallet. Saved me during those last few days of waiting when I needed groceries. The app also lets you find free ATMs in your area which is super helpful since Money Network has partnerships with certain banks and credit unions for fee-free withdrawals.
Wow, I had no idea you could use the mobile app for contactless payments before getting the physical card! That's a game changer. I'm still waiting for my card (day 6) and was stressing about running out of cash for groceries. Definitely downloading the app now. Do you know if all stores accept the contactless payments or just certain ones?
So does anyone know if theres a way to predict which day itll come? I need to pay my car loan next week and was hoping to time it right
I've been tracking my payments for about 6 months now and noticed a few patterns that might help others predict timing better. Tuesday payments seem more common during weeks with federal holidays (even if PA state offices are open), lower unemployment claim volume in summer months, and oddly enough, weeks when there's scheduled system maintenance over the weekend. Wednesday payments are more typical during high-volume periods like after holidays when everyone files at once, or during winter months when more people are claiming benefits. I started keeping a simple spreadsheet and it's helped me plan better - not perfect but gives me a better guess than just hoping!

Just wanted to follow-up - did you hear back yet? Curious how long it took for them to make a decision for you...

Congratulations on getting approved! This is a great example for others who might be dealing with similar date discrepancies. It shows that the PA UC system can handle these issues when you provide proper documentation. The fact that they corrected the date and approved your claim in just 8 days is actually pretty good timing. Thanks for updating us with the outcome - it'll definitely help others who find this thread when they're going through the same stress!

•This is such a relief to read! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now where my employer reported the wrong last day of work. Your post gives me hope that the system actually does work sometimes. Did you have to do anything else after uploading your documentation, or did they just automatically use the correct date from your evidence?
