Keep certifying weekly no matter what - if you miss weeks you'll lose those payments even after your claim gets approved. Also document everything in case you need to appeal later. The adjudication process is frustrating but most claims do get approved eventually if you're eligible.
I'm dealing with the same situation right now - filed 4 weeks ago and still waiting on my first payment. The uncertainty is the worst part because you can't plan anything when you don't know if or when the money will come. I've been checking my account obsessively every day hoping to see some progress. At least seeing all these comments makes me feel less alone in this process. Has anyone here actually gotten through the adjudication and received their backpay eventually?
The unemployment system is so messed up right now. I had to call like 50 times before getting someone who actually knew what they were talking about. Don't believe the "wait 10 days" line - that's what they tell everyone to get them off the phone. Keep calling until you get someone competent who can actually help.
Ugh, this is so frustrating! I'm dealing with something similar right now. After reading everyone's responses, it sounds like the "10 day wait" is basically their way of hoping you'll just give up. I've been seeing claimyr.com mentioned by multiple people here - has anyone who's NOT affiliated with that service actually tried it? I'm getting desperate enough to consider paying for help, but I want to make sure it's legit before I spend money I don't have while waiting for unemployment benefits. Also, @NeonNebula, your step-by-step advice about asking for a "claim adjustment specialist" is super helpful - I'm going to try that approach first before looking into other options.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your help! The suggestion to update my contact info and save it again actually worked - DocuSign email came through about 10 minutes later. Just finished completing all the identity verification steps. Hopefully my claim will start processing now! Leaving this post up in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
Great to see this got resolved! For anyone else facing this issue, I'd recommend trying the contact info update trick first since it's free and quick. If that doesn't work, here's the order I'd suggest: 1) Check email domain filtering/whitelist settings, 2) Try the technical support line at 855-251-5537, 3) Call the verification department at 888-209-8124. The paid services like Claimyr should really be a last resort since the state resources should work if you know the right numbers to call. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this thread will definitely help other people in the same situation!
For anyone else reading this thread with a similar issue, here's a quick guide to the BYE date process: 1. Wait until the day AFTER your BYE date to file a new claim 2. Continue certifying weekly during the transition period 3. Have your employment information ready for all jobs since your last claim 4. Be prepared for a 2-3 week processing period for the new claim 5. If you've earned at least 10x your weekly benefit amount during your benefit year, you should qualify (assuming you meet other eligibility requirements) 6. Your new weekly benefit amount will be calculated based on your base period wages 7. Part-time workers can still qualify for partial benefits Hope this helps others navigating this confusing transition!
This thread is incredibly helpful! I'm in a similar situation - my BYE date is coming up in a few weeks and I've been stressing about the timing. It's so frustrating that the DOL website says one thing but the system works completely differently. At least now I know to wait until the day after my BYE date passes before trying to file. Has anyone had issues with the new claim processing taking longer than the 2-3 weeks they mention? I'm worried about having a long gap in benefits since I'm also working part-time and need those partial payments to make ends meet.
I had my new claim take about 4 weeks to process earlier this year, so it can definitely go longer than the 2-3 weeks they quote. The key thing is to keep certifying every single week during the waiting period - even if it feels pointless, you need to do it to get your back payments once approved. I'd also recommend calling if it goes past 3 weeks to check on the status, though getting through can be a challenge. The gap is stressful but you'll get all the money retroactively once it's approved!

Hang in there! I know it's stressful but these delays happen more often than you'd think. Once your claim does get approved, you'll receive back pay for all the weeks you certified, so you won't lose out on any benefits. The waiting is the hardest part.

I went through something similar about 8 months ago - filed and waited 5 weeks with no updates. What finally helped was documenting everything and sending a formal inquiry through the my.ny.gov message center. I attached copies of my layoff notice and certification history. Got a response within a week saying they were waiting on wage verification from my employer. Turns out my former company was slow to respond to their requests. Once I knew what the holdup was, I was able to follow up more effectively. The whole process took 7 weeks total but I did get all my back pay. Don't give up - keep certifying and try the message center if you haven't already!
