If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

If you're still having trouble getting through to KeyBank, try calling early in the morning right when they open (around 7-8 AM) - that's when I had the best luck reaching someone. Also, if you haven't already, check if your first unemployment payment was actually issued yet by logging into your NY.gov account. Sometimes people think they're approved but the first payment hasn't been processed, which means the card wouldn't be sent out yet. The 7-10 business day countdown only starts after that first payment is issued, not after you get approved for benefits. Hope this helps!

That's really helpful advice about calling early! I just checked my account and my first payment was actually issued 2 weeks ago, so the card should definitely have been sent by now. I'll try calling KeyBank first thing tomorrow morning at 7 AM sharp. Thanks for the tip!

For anyone still dealing with missing debit cards - I went through this nightmare last year and here's what finally worked: First, call KeyBank at 1-866-295-2955 early morning (7-8 AM) when wait times are shorter. Have your claim ID and Social Security number ready. If they say the card was mailed but you never got it, insist on an expedited replacement and ask for a tracking number. Second, immediately switch to direct deposit in your NY.gov account to avoid this mess in the future. Third, if you're getting nowhere with KeyBank after multiple calls, contact your state assembly member's office - they have a constituent services team that can cut through the bureaucracy when you're facing financial hardship. Don't let them pass you back and forth between agencies. Your benefits are YOUR money and you have every right to access them!

This is such comprehensive advice, thank you! I'm bookmarking this comment for future reference. The tip about getting a tracking number for the replacement card is brilliant - I never thought to ask for that. It's frustrating that we have to fight so hard just to access our own benefits, but posts like this really help newcomers like me navigate the system. Has anyone had success with the state assembly member route? That sounds like it could be a game-changer when you're really stuck.

UPDATE: I managed to get through to a real person! I used the Claimyr service that @user3 recommended, and it worked perfectly. Turns out there was an "identity verification flag" on my account that I was never notified about! The agent cleared it and said I should receive all my backpay within 2-3 business days. Thank you all for your help and suggestions!

awesome!! im gonna try that service too. glad u finally got answers!

Perfect! Make sure to watch your payment history page closely. If you don't see activity in 3 business days, call back using that direct extension you received. Sometimes these releases need a second push to actually process through the system.

Congratulations on finally getting through! This is such a common issue and your experience will definitely help others in similar situations. The identity verification flag seems to be happening to a lot of people lately - it's frustrating that they don't send any notification about it. I'm bookmarking that Claimyr service for future reference. Fingers crossed your backpay comes through quickly!

Just want to add that even if you quit for good cause, there's usually a waiting period before benefits start. Also make sure you're actively job searching and meeting all the weekly claim requirements once you do file. The job search log is super important and they do check it sometimes during adjudication.

Before you make any decisions, I'd strongly recommend documenting everything that's happening with your manager right now. Keep detailed records of incidents, dates, times, and any witnesses. Save all emails and text messages. If possible, follow up verbal conversations with emails summarizing what was discussed - this creates a paper trail. Also consider filing a formal written complaint with HR if you haven't already, even if they've been unhelpful before. Having that official complaint on record could be crucial if you need to prove good cause later. The NYS Department of Labor takes workplace harassment seriously, but you need solid evidence to support your claim.

This is excellent advice! I went through something similar and wish I had started documenting earlier. One thing I'd add is to also keep records of how the harassment is affecting your work performance or health - like if you're having trouble sleeping, anxiety, or if it's impacting your ability to do your job effectively. The Department of Labor considers the impact on your wellbeing as part of determining good cause. Also, if you have any coworkers who witnessed the harassment, try to get their contact information in case you need witness statements later.

Here's everything you need to know about NY unemployment payments: First, don't panic if you don't see it right away. Release date doesn't mean deposit date. The standard timeline is: - Release date = when NY unemployment approves payment - 1-2 business days for direct deposit - Up to 3 days for some banks If it goes past 3 business days, then you should contact them. The fastest way is using claimyr.com - they'll get you through to an agent quick. Also check: 1. Your payment method hasn't changed 2. Your bank info is correct 3. No holds on your account Hope this helps!

Hey! I'm new to the unemployment system and this is really helpful to see. I just filed my first claim last week and I'm still waiting to hear back. Quick question - do they always send an email or notification when a payment is released, or do you just have to keep checking the portal? Also, is there a specific day of the week they usually release payments? Thanks in advance!

Hope you feel better soon! This kind of situation is exactly why the unemployment system needs better coordination with disability services. Keep all your medical documentation organized.

I'm sorry to hear about your medical situation, Miguel. From what I understand, you'll need to report this change to NYS DOL as soon as possible since you won't be able to meet the "able and available to work" requirement while recovering from surgery. You should look into applying for New York State Disability Benefits (DBL) which can provide partial wage replacement during your recovery period. The key is being proactive about the transition - don't wait until your next certification. Call them directly to explain your situation and ask about the proper process for switching from unemployment to disability benefits. Make sure to keep all your medical documentation from your doctor about the surgery and recovery timeline. Best of luck with your surgery and recovery!

This is really helpful advice, Fatima! I'm wondering though - is there a waiting period between when you stop unemployment and when disability benefits kick in? I'm worried about having a gap in income during the transition, especially with medical bills coming up.
