After 3 months waiting on my refund I kept getting different explanations on here about what was happening. Got so frustrated i finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to actually reach an IRS agent directly. Found out EVERYONE online was wrong about my situation - had nothing to do with verification and was actually a simple math error they fixed on their end. Talking to an actual agent was the only way I finally understood what was happening and got my money.
Yes! Got a callback within 3 hours and they fixed my issue right there on the phone. After 2 months of confusion and stress it was resolved in a 15 minute call. Absolute game changer if ur dealing with refund delays.
Anybody else notice how the worst advice always starts with "my friend's tax guy said..." š
The classic "I read on Reddit that..." š
ATTENTION: If you filed with a tax preparer who takes their fees out of your refund, your money goes through a third party bank first (like SBTPG or Republic Bank) BEFORE reaching your account. This adds 1-2 more days to the process. Check if this applies to you!
just an FYI - IRS website says "your financial institution may not make funds available to you right away. contact your financial insitution to find out when u will have access to ur refund." so tldr: probably tomorrow but call chase if ur really need to know
It depends on your bank and sometimes the time of day the IRS sends it. Chase usually posts overnight, so probably tomorrow morning. But I've seen some people get it same day if the IRS sends it early enough. Either way, you're in the home stretch! If you check your Chase app regularly you might see it pending before it posts.
Thanks! Been refreshing the app all day lol. Nothing pending yet but I'll keep checking!
SBTPG (TurboTax's bank) is holding your money. They receive it from IRS, take out the fees and loan amount, then send the rest to you. Usually takes 1-2 business days after DDD. If it gets to be Thursday with no deposit, call them directly at 800-901-6663.
I spent DAYS trying to get through to the IRS about a similar issue (though mine was more complicated - had a freeze code on my account). Finally used Claimyr.com and got an actual IRS agent to call me back in less than an hour. They fixed my issue on the spot and my refund was processed right away. Saved me so much frustration.

I literally sat on hold with the IRS for 3 hours yesterday only to get disconnected. Its criminal how they treat us. Trying to find out about my amended return from LAST YEAR that still isnt processed. Anyone know how to actually reach a human?

ā¢seriously? never heard of it but desperate at this point. I'll try anything. 14 months waiting for my amended refund is ridiculous.

ā¢Yeah it works. They call and wait on hold, then call you when they get someone. The IRS agent I got was actually super helpful and found my amended return was missing a form. Got it sorted out and my check arrived 3 weeks later.

I work at a bank (not Chase). Here's what's happening: SBTPG initiated the ACH transfer today, but most ACH transfers don't settle same-day unless they're specifically marked as same-day ACH (which costs more). Regular ACH transfers typically take 1-2 business days to complete. So if they initiated it today, it'll probably hit your account tomorrow morning when your bank processes their overnight batch.

ā¢THIS should be the top answer. This is exactly what's happening. The tax prep places use regular ACH to save money.
