Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Each year the IRS gets worse. They're critically underfunded and understaffed, with ancient computer systems that barely function. Your return is probably just sitting in a digital queue waiting to be processed. The acceptance notification means they received it, but they may not have even looked at it yet. As long as you have proof you filed (like the acceptance confirmation), you're protected even if they somehow lose it.
Try logging into your IRS online account and checking your tax records there rather than just using the Where's My Refund tool. Sometimes your transcript will show processing activity even when WMR shows nothing. Also, with the multiple W-2s, they might be doing income matching which can take extra time.

Hmm, that's frustrating for sure. But as others have said, as long as you got the acceptance notification you should be fine. Their systems are just extremely backed up. Give it another week or two before worrying.

The IRS refund status tool is a joke. It could say "refund sent" for weeks before anything actually happens. Your best bet is to call them directly, but good luck getting through their phone lines. The whole system is designed to be frustrating.

This whole ID verification thing is a scam by the government to hold onto our money longer. They've had my $3241 refund since February and keep making up excuses. Now it's "identity verification" even though they've known me for 20+ years. Ridiculous.

The ID verification is to prevent fraud tho. My cousin had someone try to file a return using his info last year. Rather deal with the hassle than have my refund stolen š¤·āāļø

Definitely check your transcripts - it has way more detailed info than the WMR tool. Most likely they adjusted your Premium Tax Credit based on the 1095-A you submitted, which would explain why they closed the return (processing complete) rather than sending it for further review. Unless there are other issues, your refund (possibly adjusted) should be issued soon.

My return was "closed" last year and it was honestly just a glitch in their system. Called them and they said everything was fine and my refund was being processed normally. Got it about 3 weeks later. The WMR tool is super unreliable.
