Just a heads up, theres a new IRS policy about Innocent Spouse Relief that went into effect last month. Make sure youre up to date on the latest requirements before you file!

Maybe try reaching out to your local congressperson's office? They sometimes have liaisons who can help with IRS issues.

Yes officer, this comment right here šš
my brother in christ you are getting SCAMMED. I own a small business with rental properties and even I don't pay that much š
dang fr? Now I feel extra stupid for paying this much š
Don't feel stupid, just make a change! We all learn somehow
Dunno if this helps but my transcripts were blank for 8 weeks and then suddenly updated with everything at once - acceptance, processing, approval, and refund date all on the same day. Sometimes they batch process returns and everything happens at once.
Did u change addresses, file status, or income level dramatically from last year? Any of those can trigger additional verification.
My income increased about 30% from last year but everything else is the same. Would that be enough to trigger a review?
Yep that could do it, especially if you're claiming refundable credits. Significant income changes sometimes flag for verification.

I work in finance, so let me break this down for you: 1. Refund processing times vary by company and payment method. 2. Most companies initiate refunds within 1-3 business days of cancellation. 3. Credit card refunds typically appear as pending within 24 hours but may take 3-5 days to post. 4. Debit card and bank transfer refunds can take 5-10 business days. 5. PayPal refunds are usually faster, often within 24 hours. If it's been longer than these timeframes, definitely reach out to the company again. They should be able to provide a refund confirmation number or transaction ID. As for the IRS issue, consider using the Taxpayer Advocate Service if you're having trouble resolving it on your own. They can often help navigate complex situations.

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! It's really helpful to have all this info in one place. I'll definitely keep an eye on those timeframes and follow up if needed.
