Just got my refund yesterday w/ same cycle code! Filed Feb 2, got accepted same day, WMR stuck on 1 bar for weeks, then suddenly got DDD email on Tues, $ in acct Thurs morning. Exactly like yours! Bank showed pending deposit Wed night. Cycle code 0505 = Thursday/Friday batch. You're def getting paid soon!
This is so helpful! I've been checking my account every hour since getting my DDD email. Good to know there's a pattern to when these actually hit accounts.
I received the exact same notification on February 28th with a 0505 cycle code and a DDD of March 3rd. My refund appeared in my checking account at 3:42am on March 3rd, right on schedule. Isn't it strange how the WMR tool still showed 'processing' for almost two days after the money was already in my account? The IRS systems don't seem to communicate with each other very efficiently, do they?
If you're concerned about timing, you might want to call the IRS to confirm everything is on track. I had a similar situation last year and wasted hours trying to get through their phone system. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and actually got connected to a real person who confirmed my deposit was scheduled correctly. I was probably being overly cautious, but when you need the money by a certain date, it's worth making sure there aren't any hidden issues that could cause delays.
FYI - Claimyr doesn't give you special access to IRS. They just automate the phone tree navigation and hold process. Def useful during peak season tho. Saved me hrs of waiting last yr when I had a weird notice situation.
I've used this service exactly 2 times in the past year, and both times I got through in under 27 minutes when I had previously spent over 3 hours trying on my own. Do you know if they can connect you to specific departments? I need to talk to someone about my amended return status.
Oh my god I totally feel your stress about this! π« I was counting on my refund for rent last month and it came EXACTLY on the date WMR showed! I was so relieved I literally cried. My credit card payment was due the next day and I would have been screwed with late fees. From everything I've seen, when they give you an actual date (not just "still processing") it's pretty darn reliable. Sending good vibes that yours hits right on time! π
I had this exact issue with Netspend last year. My deposit was showing as "sent" on the WMR tool but didn't appear in my account until 4:37pm that day. Something about how Netspend processes ACH deposits in batches throughout the day rather than in real-time. I remember being slightly worried because I needed to pay rent, but it did eventually show up. One thing to note - if this is your first large deposit to Netspend, they sometimes place a 24-hour hold for security reasons.
This is really helpful - thanks for the specific timing info. I'll try to be patient and check again later today.
Be careful about calling state tax offices right now. We're in peak processing season, and some states are flagging accounts for "excessive inquiries" which can trigger additional review. This happened to my brother-in-law who called multiple times about his state refund, and it ended up delaying his refund by an additional 30 days due to being pulled for manual review. If your federal is already scheduled, I'd suggest waiting at least until that deposits before escalating with the state agency. Each contact can restart certain verification timers in their system.
Had a similar situation last year that turned into a complete nightmare. π© My state return showed as "received" for 8 weeks with no updates. Turns out they had sent me a letter requesting verification that never arrived at my address. After 90 days they just closed my case and I had to refile the entire return! Check your mailbox carefully and maybe even call to confirm they don't need anything from you. The most frustrating part was that their online system never showed any indication that they needed additional information from me!

The timing matches what I've seen this year. TurboTax card deposits are consistent with the DDD. Bank deposits sometimes take 1-2 additional days. Credit unions often post fastest. The IRS isn't actually sending early - just different financial institutions processing at different speeds.

If anyone is still waiting, the IRS2Go app often updates before the Where's My Refund website. I've found that checking your transcript at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript gives you the most accurate information. My experience was similar - filed 2/5, transcript updated 2/19, refund deposited 2/26.
