There are several reasons SBTPG can't find your info: ⢠PATH Act delays mean IRS hasn't released funds yet ⢠SBTPG only receives data after IRS approval ⢠System synchronization between IRS and SBTPG takes 24-48 hours ⢠Bank holiday delays can impact processing timeframes I wouldn't trust SBTPG's system for accurate status updates. Their database only updates after receiving confirmation from Treasury Direct, and they're notoriously slow with their status portal. Checking WMR or your transcript directly will give you more accurate information.
I filed on January 26th and was in the exact same situation. My SBTPG showed nothing until February 23rd, and then suddenly updated with all my information. Got my refund on February 25th. The PATH Act delay is real - they legally cannot process certain refunds until after February 15th, and then there's still processing time after that date.
Tax professional here. Tax Topic 152 is simply informational and indicates you're due a refund. It's not specific to any credit or deduction. The marketplace insurance form (1095-A) requires additional processing because the IRS needs to verify the Premium Tax Credit information against what was reported by the marketplace. Have you checked your tax transcript on the IRS website? That would give us a much clearer picture of what's happening with your return. Also, when you say "accepted" - is that what the IRS Where's My Refund tool shows, or just what Cash App is telling you?
I filed on January 24th with marketplace insurance and had exactly the same situation. My transcript showed no movement for exactly 21 days, then suddenly updated with a direct deposit date. The refund hit my account 2 days later on February 16th at 3:27am. The 1095-A processing adds time but doesn't mean anything is wrong. Based on the last three years of filing with marketplace insurance, my refunds have taken 21, 19, and 21 days respectively from acceptance to deposit. It's like clockwork once you know what to expect.
Honestly, the IRS timelines are meaningless this year. They keep saying "21 days for most refunds" but I've seen people who filed in January still waiting while others who filed in mid-February already got their DDD. The Refund Cycle Chart used to be reliable but seems completely irrelevant for Tax Year 2023 processing.
I believe the current processing timeframe is approximately 21-25 days for most standard returns, though this can certainly vary based on several factors. If you claimed the Child Tax Credit, there may be additional verification processes that could potentially extend this timeline somewhat. In my experience, returns with a single dependent that don't have other complicating factors typically process within the standard window, assuming there were no flags raised during the initial review.
I was in this exact situation last year. According to IRS Publication 1345 (which outlines refund timing), the PATH Act restriction officially lifts on February 15th each year, but processing doesn't happen instantaneously for everyone. I waited 6 days after the PATH lift before getting my DDD, and the money hit my account 5 days after that. I'm a little worried the same will happen this year, but at least now I know what to expect.
FYI - the weekly cycles aren't as rigid as ppl think. IRS has been updating DDDs almost daily for some filers. PATH just means they couldn't issue refunds before mid-Feb, but they've been processing returns this whole time. Check your transcript for cycle code - if it ends in 05, you're def weekly. Your DDD could come tonight but more likely Fri. Don't stress too much, the $ is coming!

Oh my goodness, I remember being in your EXACT situation during my husband's deployment! It's so stressful handling everything while they're away! I found that transcript availability follows this general pattern: - Simple returns: 7-14 days after acceptance - Returns with credits: 14-21 days - Military returns with special situations: 14-30 days The waiting is absolutely agonizing when you're trying to manage everything alone during deployment. Hang in there! The transcript will update, I promise. Just make sure you're checking the right tax year in the dropdown menu - that tripped me up at first!

ā¢I'd like to clarify one technical point about transcript availability: there are actually four different transcript types (Return, Account, Record of Account, and Wage & Income). The Return Transcript is what most people look for first, but the Account Transcript often updates earlier and can show that processing has begun even when the Return Transcript shows as unavailable.

Have you checked if you're looking at the right tax year? The dropdown defaults to 2023 right now. You need to specifically select 2024. Also, are you checking for the Return Transcript or Account Transcript? Account Transcripts update first and show processing status codes.

ā¢Good catch. Easy to miss. Account transcript updates first. Shows processing codes. Return transcript comes later.

ā¢Thank you so much for pointing this out! I think I might have been looking at the wrong transcript type. I'll check the Account Transcript instead of just the Return Transcript. Hopefully that will show something!
