Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning 2. Use the Spanish option (even if you don't speak Spanish) 3. When you get a person, politely ask to be transferred to English-speaking support 4. Be super nice to everyone you talk to It took a few tries, but I finally got through this way. Good luck!

Has anyone tried negotiating the amount they owe? I've heard you can sometimes get it reduced.
That's called an Offer in Compromise. It's a whole different process and pretty complicated. Might want to talk to a tax professional about that one.
Ah gotcha, thanks for the info! Might look into that if the payment plan doesn't work out.

Quick question - did they give you any timeframe for when you'll actually get your refund after sorting out the verification?
They said it could take up to 9 weeks 😩 But at least the ball is rolling now!

To be fair, they're dealing with massive amounts of sensitive data. Upgrades take time and have to be super secure. But yeah, it's frustrating af for us users.

•Mostly just slowness and bad luck. My documents got lost in the mail at one point, which set everything back. Definitely recommend sending things certified if you have to mail anything!

•Depends on your situation tbh. If its a simple verification, probably not worth the money. But if you have a complicated tax situation, might be a good idea.
