Hey guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c
Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them any personal info?
Pro tip: If you're expecting a large refund, consider adjusting your withholdings for next year. It's better to have that money throughout the year than to give the government an interest-free loan!
Whatever you do, DON'T agree to anything or make any payments without fully understanding your situation. The IRS can be pushy, but you have rights!
@DeshaunnDa Great you sure about that? Just curious
Has anyone tried contacting their local Taxpayer Advocate Service? I've heard they can sometimes help with refund delays if you're experiencing financial hardship.
Pro tip: If you're expecting a big refund next year, consider adjusting your withholdings instead. It's basically giving the government an interest-free loan otherwise!
This! π I started doing this a couple years ago and it's so much better. More money in each paycheck and no stress about refund delays

Anyone else feel like the IRS is stuck in the stone age? How hard is it to modernize their systems? π¦

β’For real! It's like they're allergic to efficiency π

β’To be fair, they're dealing with massive amounts of sensitive data. Upgrades take time and have to be super secure. But yeah, it's frustrating af for us users.

Protip: If you're having trouble with the IRS website, try accessing it during off-peak hours. Like super early in the morning or late at night. Sometimes it's just overloaded during the day.
