I remember when I first applied for benefits after losing my bartending job, I got so much wrong information from people who thought they knew how the system worked. Even the DEO website is confusing! Best advice is to just check your CONNECT account daily and watch for payments. BTW the waiting week used to come separately but now it's just processed like any other week. My daughter just went through this last month and everything came via direct deposit exactly as she set it up.
omg the DEO is such a mess!!! i went through this nightmare last year and i swear every person tells u something different. one rep told me paper checks, another said direct deposit, and then when i finally got paid it went to the way2go card i never even activated!!! took me 3 weeks to figure that out 🤦♀️ honestly just keep checking your connect account under the payment history section and it'll show u where they sent it. and yea the $600 thing is LONG gone sadly
Good news! I used Claimyr this morning and got through to a DEO agent in about 20 minutes. She was able to see that my claim weeks were actually there but not displaying correctly because of some quarterly review flag on my account. She removed the flag and now my weeks are showing again! I can claim them now and should get paid on schedule. Such a relief not to have to wait weeks for this to resolve.
That's amazing! I'm going to try Claimyr right now. It sounds like it could be the same issue with mine - some kind of flag that's not visible to me but is preventing the weeks from showing up. Thank you for sharing your experience and letting me know there's hope!
did u ever get it fixed? my cousin had same problem an they made him reapply for benefits but he got back pay eventually
SUCCESS! I finally got through using Claimyr and the agent found that there was a quarterly wage review flag on my account that was hiding my weeks. They fixed it right there on the call and my weeks reappeared! I've already claimed them and should get paid next week. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions!
I went through this in February. The quarters are Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, and Oct-Dec. So we just entered a new quarter in April. The DEO system automatically flags accounts that might qualify for a new determination based on more recent work history. The most frustrating part is that even though you still had weeks left on your current claim, they'll put everything on hold until they make a new determination. In my case, they ended up keeping my benefit amount the same, but I still had to wait almost 3 weeks with no income while they processed everything. The system is incredibly inefficient.
Just to clarify something important: make sure you keep claiming your weeks during the quarterly review process. Even though payments might be temporarily paused, you still need to log in and claim your weeks on schedule. If you don't, you could lose those weeks entirely, even after your new determination is processed. Also, when you do the reapplication, you'll need to complete all work search requirements (5 activities per week) during this period just like normal. The quarterly review doesn't exempt you from any of the standard requirements.
my cousin works for the unemployment office and she says the waiting week is a way they save money hoping people don't follow up on it lol
Update: You guys were right! Just checked my account this morning and there was another $275 deposit for my waiting week. Took about 5 weeks total from when I first applied. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!

Hey, any luck getting your issue resolved? I've been keeping an eye on this thread because my brother just got hit with the same incarceration hold yesterday!

•UPDATE: Finally got through to DEO using that Claimyr service someone mentioned. Was connected to an agent in about 15 minutes! She confirmed it was an error in their new cross-reference system and that they're seeing this issue a lot. They've expedited my case since I provided all my employment documentation showing I've been working since my release. The hold should be removed in 2-3 business days. Such a relief! Tell your brother to be sure to have all his employment records ready when he calls.

•This is actually great advice! My cousin works for a state rep and they have special contacts at agencies like DEO to help constituents with issues. Definitely worth trying if other methods don't work.
